Chapter 21

 

“Zhan-ge are you really, okay?” Wang Yibo asked, they are still waiting for the result if there are fractured bones, but he has a huge bruised on his back shoulder.

 

“Of course, I’m a man too Wang Yibo, it’s like badge of honor, don’t worry,” Xiao Zhan said as he reassured Yibo. Xiao Zhan noticed how worried Yibo was for the past hours. It is not like he is dying because of a minor injury. He hasn’t left his side from the villa to the hospital, and Yibo looks more anxious than him.

 

After a few while the doctor gave them the result, there were some broken bones on his shoulders and needed to rest for two weeks, that’s why they told the producers of the variety show that Xiao Zhan can no longer join the show.

 

“I understand Zhanzhan, I’m really sorry of what happened,” Han-ge said.

 

“It’s okay Han-ge, it was an accident and it’s my fault, but don’t worry like what I promise you can still use my footage,” Xiao Zhan said.

 

“Thank you Zhanzhan, but how about Johnny? You won last time with him, right? Are you still going to pursue with your you know date?”

 

“Ah! That’s right, well if it’s okay with him, I can still meet him and treat him outside the show.”

 

“Aright, I’ll advise him regarding that, don’t worry the show will answer all of your needs to the date.”

 

“Haha, thank you Han-ge, but what about Yibo?” Xiao Zhan asked.

 

“Oh, he will continue with it since it’s just a short time and agreed to be the guest,” Han-ge cannot said that it was Yibo’s idea, so to save face he just told Xiao Zhan that Yibo will still commit to what he had suggested.

 

“I see, thank you Han-ge. Please take care of him as always.” Xiao Zhan said and bowed even though they were just talking over the phone.

 

Yibo went back to Xiao Zhan’s room after talking to his doctor, fortunately they brought them to the hospital where their family doctors are working. After a few arrangements he assisted Xiao Zhan and drove him back to his unit.

 

“Uhm, thank you Yibo, you don’t need to do this, you still have a schedule.”

 

“No problem, Zhan-ge it’s my turn to take care of you.”

 

“But what about the show? Han-ge told me that—”

 

“No need to worry about that Zhan-ge, I’ll just join the trial date, that’s if someone choose me.”

 

“Of course, someone will choose you! Who wouldn’t let that opportunity go away!” Xiao Zhan eagerly said.

 

“So, if you win, are you going to choose me?” Yibo asked as he leaned closer to Xiao Zhan and while Xiao Zhan is so conscious by how close Yibo is.”

 

“O-of course!” Xiao Zhan said shyly, while Yibo just smug in satisfaction and released Xiao Zhan’s seatbelt.

 

“Thought so, let’s go Zhan-ge,” Yibo said and assisted Xiao Zhan outside the car and carried his bags to his unit.

 

“Thank you Yibo, I promised I’ll treat once my shoulder healed,” Xiao Zhan said as he tried to bid farewell to Yibo, except Yibo just went directly inside his unit and told him that he will have a break and assist him for a meantime until he is recovered.

 

“That’s absurd Yibo, you cannot do that, you are a busy person and —”

 

“No ands and buts Zhan-ge, I deserve a break too,” Yibo said as he lies down on Zhan’s bed.

 

“But I only have one room and cannot let you sleep on the couch,” Xiao Zhan said and adds,” Alright I’ll sleep on the couch, and you sleep here, ’kay?”

 

“Or we can just share the bed Zhan-ge,” Yibo said as he gently pulls Xiao Zhan on the bed without harming his injured shoulder. As usual Yibo hugs him from the back and Xiao Zhan is really used to it, he is a hundred percent sure, but since he saw Yibo’s face while getting worried with him, he kind of getting conscious about him.

 

“Aiyo, Lao Wang, I told you not to do this thing, and others might misunderstand it,” Xiao Zhan said as he tries to stand and break out of Yibo’s hug, but Yibo nuzzles to him tighter, as he missed this kind of moment with Xiao Zhan.

 

Yibo felt comfortable and relaxed on Xiao Zhan’s back without harming his injury. While Xiao Zhan on the other hand doesn’t know why he feels embarrassed, and he can feel that his face is getting hot.

 

As great timing as it is, the door slams open and there, some members of the idol group Xnine, and everyone freeze as they saw the two on the bed, except for Zhiguang who went directly to Xiao Zhan and knelt directly in front of Xiao Zhan and hold his hands, it seems that he didn’t even notice Yibo while snuggling on Xiao Zhan’s back.

 

“Zhan-ge, are you okay?” Zhiguang said worriedly.

 

“I’m okay Zhiguang,” Xiao Zhan smiles back at him and pats his head, Yibo just watches the two how they interact with each other. Zhiguang sighed in relief and Xiao Zhan appreciates how worried Zhiguang is.

 

“Thank goodness you are alright,” Zhiguang said as he rested his forehead on Zhan’s lap.

 

“Uhm guys, I think our position is a little too awkward.”

 

“That’s Zhi—whoever you are, you make Zhan-ge uncomfortable,” Yibo said as he pushed Zhiguang’s head out of Xiao Zhan’s lap.

 

“Ahhhh!” Zhiguang screams out of his lungs as he noticed Yibo on the back, while the other members just face palmed on their youngest member.

 

“Zhan-ge, I think you are not safe here, some people just walk in directly to your room,” Yibo said as he said without breaking the eye-to-eye contact to Xiao Zhan and speaking like the other do not exist.

 

“UIhm we’ll leave you first, Zhan-ge it is good to know that you are okay,” Chuyue said as he grabs Zhiguang and drags him back to their unit.

 

Yibo explained to Xiao Zhan that he will stay here for the night, and he will return to his unit. Xiao Zhan thought that Yibo was referring to his house, but he didn’t know his former artist just moved to a new unit just above their floor.

 

Although Yibo wanted to buy a unit on their floor, but it was occupied already and he wanted a whole floor by himself and needs to give one unit to Peixin as well, so he bought the only available unit on Zhan’s floor and let Peixin use it as Xiao Zhan’s neighbor instead.

 

But Xiao Zhan didn’t know all of this and just let Yibo sleep for the night in his room and bed, after they cleaned up and took his medicines. He used to see Yibo sleeping when he was his manager but this time, he really appreciates how Yibo acted on his behalf and how worried he was, he blushed as he remembers his face and for some reason he leaned into his face and kissed Yibo’s forehead.

 

“Goodnight Yibo, thank you as always,” Xiao Zhan falls into sleep due to medicine.

 

Yibo opens his eyes and traced Xiao Zhan face, as what the older man did, he leans and kiss the older man’s forehead, next the tip of the nose and even though he wanted to give him a peck on the lips, he stops doing so as he wanted to kiss him when he’s awake so just kissed his cheek and says,

 

“Good night, Zhan-ge, please rest well.”
