Chapter 18

After the pilot episode of the variety show, staffs have been receiving a lot of support from the viewers especially Xiao Zhan and Johnny, although some of the viewers are against since somehow, they become a fan of Xiao Zhan from the previous variety show together with Talu and Yibo.

 

Yibo asked Peixin to do everything to prevent Johnny from his advances, but since Xiao Zhan is a good person to begin with, he cannot afford to ignore Johnny besides he is good companion as well. They may not have a lot in common, that is why Xiao Zhan is enjoying his conversation with him.

 

 

From time-to-time Peixin and Fanxing has been talking to Xiao Zhan, especially Peixin, since he does not want Yibo to get mad at him, he saw how annoyed he is during the shooting of pilot episode and if he is a devil, one thing is for sure the hell would freeze because of his cold attitude. While Fanxing has been enjoying the scene since Talu asked him just to enjoy the show, he knew that he is worried as well about his childhood friend.

 

There were times that he reminisced about their times, and he knows how protective Talu is and treats him as his own brother. Fanxing felt the same, he treats Xiao Zhan as his older brother and the fact he’s reliable with his job and always gave him some advice, so he opt to watch him as well.

 

 

At this point they really look like Xiao Zhan’s guardian angel than contestant of the show, but what can he do, he is not interested with other candidates as well. Well, frankly Peixin is more amusing than them as he struggles in meddling with their Zhan-ge’s mosquitoes around him as Yibo describes them.

 

“Zhan-ge, do you know what the next game will be?” Peixin asked.

 

“I have no idea as well, but we should unwind while we don’t have any task. I think that the pilot episode has been released already since it’s been a week already, and they only need few days to edit our vids, well based on variety shows that Yibo has been. I hope they enjoy it. I’m still not used to this kind of set up to be honest,” Xiao Zhan said as he sighed.

 

 

“What do you mean by that Zhan-ge, you look natural on this, I always thought when I saw you in the company, why are you a manager and not an artist, it is really a shame,” Fanxing said.

 

“Ahaha, thanks Fanxing, speaking of which why did you guys join this show?”

 

“Well, we received an invitation.” Fanxing said while smiling.

 

“Well, I totally get it because of Talu right? He’s that kind of person,” Xiao Zhan said as he puts his finger on his chin and adds, “But I am really surprised that Yibo let Peixin join the show, he used to say, we are busy blah blah blah, so I am really surprised.”

 

 

“Well, things happened Zhan-ge, beside I told him I want to experience dating as well hehe,” Peixin just gave arbitrary reasons since he cannot tell him that Yibo asked him to join whether he likes it or not.

 

“Oh, I see, well you’re the same age, so I think he understands your sentiments as well. I told you he’s friendly when you get to know him,” Xiao Zhan said as he tapped Peixin’s back and smiling.

 

“Hehe you are right Zhan-ge,” Peixin said, but he wanted to say that Yibo is only like that when it comes to him and he’s still cold with him. He just sighed in resignation and wishing that Johnny would choose a different target if in case that he won.

Apparently, some of the contestants are trying to get close to Xiao Zhan as well but it is obvious that Johnny is already creating a barricade for Xiao Zhan, that is why it is so hard to interrupt them. The only thing that Peixin can do is to prevent Johnny from winning games, thankfully Fanxing has been supporting him.

“ZhanZhan! Come here, can you help me to cook?” Johnny asked Xiao Zhan.

 

“Sure!”

 

“Ah! I will help too!” Peixin said, but he knew that he cannot contribute anything as the two are great cooks already.”

“Sure, you can help us cutting some ingredients.”

 

“I’ll help Zhan-ge as well,” Fanxing said while smiling.

 

Peixin thought and hoping that Yibo should appreciate what he is doing, it is very hard to guard his Zhan-ge, he is attractive for both men and women.

 

While the four are preparing the food, some contestants are cleaning the house as well, they are dividing the chores within the house and some of them are enjoying the pool. This also serves as their vacation as staff, they have decided to prepare their dinner outside so some of the contestants are grilling some meat as well.

 

Those who are in charge cooking also went out to prepare the foods that they have cooked, and they are just waiting for some meat to be grilled. After an hour and half of preparation they had their dinner, and the producers offered them some ice cream for dessert. Thankfully the weather is not that cold, so they enjoyed the ice cream and the pool.

 

Han-geng went out to the house to give their task, “Hey guys good evening! For your next task, you’ll be grouped into two and since some of you are soaked already, let’s make everyone wet!” He announced and everyone cheered his announcement.

 

“After you pick your pair, each pair will have a water battle! The other one will lift you on their shoulder and the other one will have a battle to other contestants, the first group to drop in the pool will be eliminated, with this you will have a chance to have a date from random contestant, so whoever your pair is, you two will have a date and we will ask for your celebrities if what are their recommendations for your date and the producers will prepare it for you plus gift certificates of groceries, remember guys, this is for 2 days and 1 night!”

 

The contestant picked up the spoon to know who they are paired with; Xiao Zhan is the last one to picked up the spoon. Luckily on Peixin, Xiao Zhan chose Johnny as his team. While Peixin picked Fanxing as his partner, he is doomed as he thought.

 

Right now, he’s just wishing for best bad luck for Xiao Zhan and Johnny, he doesn’t mean any harm, but the devil will visit them if the two of them win the game and he’s still young and wants to stay longer on Earth.

 

The game starts and the contestants are getting eliminated one by one, Peixin and Fanxing were eliminated on the 1st round, the two of them are competitive but it doesn’t mean that they are physically strong. He hates to admit it, but they really look like a teenager on their high school year.

 

Last round is between Johnny-Zhan pair and other contestants, before the game, Zhan removes his jacket because its heavy since it has been soaked in the water for a long time and Johnny is the one who’s carrying him, they may have the same height, but he is lighter compared to the other man.

As he removes his jacket, he is still wearing a white shirt underneath but since it’s wet already, everyone was stunned by how lean his body and thin his waist his, his shirt is really sticking to his skin, but still, he has his pants rash guard underneath his short, as he is a bit hesitant to show his leg. However, right now he is being an eye candy to other contestants and he’s a bit tempting with his ‘wet look.’

 

“Ah Zhanzhan! I think it is better if you still wear your jacket,” Johnny said.

 

“Aiyo, this will add more weight, besides I am heavy already I don’t want to strain your shoulder,” Xiao Zhan explained.

 

“It’s alright, it’s thin! You are light and I am strong, there’s no need to worry about that!”

 

“No, I insist, we need to win this, aside from main prize we will get a hefty gift check for groceries!” Xiao Zhan excitedly said, “Every one of his friends, coworkers and family knows how thrifty he is and competitive when it comes to gift certificates.

 

“That’s what your concern? But really Zhanzhan well I hate to say this but,” Johnny said and leans towards Zhan and shyly mumbles, “We can see your skin uhm and chest.”

 

“Oh my gosh! Sorry for the ugly view!” Xiao Zhan hurriedly said as he covered himself and his face blushed due to embarrassment.

 

“No, that’s not what I meant! Well, it’s tempting to see,” Johnny said shyly.

 

Xiao Zhan was too stunned and shy from what happened but continued the game and weakly said “So, this is flirting looks like.”

Johnny laughs at him and surprised by the naivety of this man and just said, “Yes, it is, and here I thought I am openly flirting with you on the first day.”

 

Xiao Zhan flushed with the sudden declaration of Johnny Huang, so he touched his face to cool it off and put his jacket on. Han-geng noticed how chummy they are with each other and even said on the mic to stop flirting first and continue the game, he even asked the PD if he could take some photos to promote the next episode and since the PD and him are close, he chose to upload the picture of the two on his weibo account.

 

The picture garnered a lot of views and likes from the viewers and most of them are excited who the winner is, but most of the viewers are truly convinced that Johnny Huang and Xiao Zhan already have feelings for each other and shipping them as well.

 

The show even asks the viewers who is the most famous couple for them, and they will give them a special prize based on the highest likes on weibo.

 

During their free time, the contestants are just talking with each other or watching some movies together. Some of the staff even asked them about their celebrities, of course they are people as well and even though they are working in the same field, even Han-geng joins them, there’s a chance that they won’t be able to see their idols. There’s a lot of Yibo’s fan on the contestants, even though most of them are bisexual, one cannot deny that Wang Yibo is an attractive man.

 

“Well, Zhanzhan, since you are a former manager of Wang Yibo, how’s he in personal?” One of the contestants said.

 

“Well, he is a good child,” Xiao Zhan said.

 

“Really? Some say that he is so cool but snub in personal?”

 

 

“Well maybe at first but he’s really a good child?”

 

“Really? He attended the same show as my artist, but she said during the interview that he can only speak one phrase or sentence, so I’m really stunned when he has scandals!

 

“Well, I cannot say that because he’s really talkative in private. Maybe he just needs more time.

 

“Really Zhanzhan, you think Yibo is talkative?” Han-geng asked.

 

“Ah yes Han-ge, maybe because I have been working with him for 3 years that’s why we become close.”

 

“But why did they move you to a different artist? Oh, sorry that might be out of the line” One of the contestants asked.

 

“Hahaha it’s okay, I’ve already talked this with the CEO and originally I only have 3 years contract with Yibo, so that’s it and besides I am really planning to resign since you know I’m at age to settle down hehe, it’s embarrassing to admit it though.”

 

“No no Zhan-ge! We are sorry if we ask you something like that besides, we are curious why you are not dating anyone! You are a total package if you want to you can even become a celebrity!”

 

“Well maybe I haven’t seen the one yet haha,” he embarrassingly said.

 

“Right, maybe the one you are looking for is here!” Johnny interrupted their conversation and some of them teased him for being bold.

“Wow, how bold of you Mr. Huang hahaha.” Xiao Zhan jokingly said.
