After meeting Wei Wuxian, Lan Zhan went immediately to the library together with Xue Yang and Lan Xichen. Xue Yang notices that he his face is red and looks like someone slapped him, he mentioned what happened that morning and told them that Wei Wuxian might not remember what really happened that evening and the biggest problem is the Minister or War, Youwen.

 

He might investigate what happened especially if it’s related to the Empress; he’s known as the faithful dog of the Empress and devoted as well. Some speculations that prior to being the Empress in line, Wei Wuxian was betrothed to Youwen as they grew up together and both came from a great family though Wei Wuxian is adopted.

 

After some time, Xingchen also joins them in the library and greets them. They talk about what will be their current plan as one of their moles told them that the Wen clan is plotting to blame Xiao Xingchen for try on killing the Empress. Lan Zhan assured him that he would not let it happen and speeded up the formal procedure for him to become his official Concubine.

 

“Actually, His Highness, that night I met the Empress, but I didn’t really do anything to harm him,” Xingchen said as he recalled what happened that night.

 

That night when he’s looking for Lan Zhan, someone told him that he is at the lake, but when he arrived, he saw Wei Wuxian, clutching his Chenqing and it was apparent that he cried just now, so Xingchen attempts to leave quietly but Wei Wuxian noticed his presence.

 

“You,” Wei Wuxian calmly said.

 

“Greetings Your Highness.”

 

“How does it feel to be loved by him?” Wei Wuxian said without looking back at Xingchen, but he didn’t receive any response from the other party.

 

“I love him with all my heart, give and do everything but it seems, it doesn’t really matter. Can you give him to me?” Wei Wuxian said as he looked back at Xiao Xingchen.

 

“He’s not a thing Your Majesty, I just cannot give him to you, besides you chose to be part of Wen Clan, you know that they are inconspicuously using Demonic Cultivation, so do not say that you did everything for him, because you are doing it just for yourself,” Xingchen angrily said.

 

“Hahahahahahahaha, that’s why I said. I did everything, everything that I could offer. You don’t deserve him either Mr. Xiao Xingchen, I know something about you that he didn’t know, you’re just doing it for your own merit as well, like me.” Wei Ying said as he snorted sarcastically.

 

“But what’s the point of living, if even the person I love and admire hates me, what’s the point of being good at everything, if I’ll be just the Empress in form and just subject in delivering an heir. He doesn’t even want to do it with me, so what’s the point my existence here, it is revolting,” Wei Ying continued as he tried to move towards the lake.

 

“You know Xingchen, we are well-known to be the best swimmers, so what do you think would happen if they found my dead body floating on this lake? Even though this palace is huge, I know for sure that someone saw you while with me. So, if I die, can he still defend you from Wen? I don’t have anything left, so I must go now. So long, Xingchen.” Wei Wuxian stated as he let his body fall into the deep lake. Xingchen tried to grab Wei Wuxian’s hand, but then he stopped doing so and just let him fall off the lake and left the scene.

 

To begin with, he still has a chance to save him, but he didn’t do so and didn’t even call for someone’s help but instead he heartlessly left him there, so he thought that he was remorseful as well.

 

Despite knowing this, Lan Zhan and Xue Yang reassured him that nothing will happen to him, and they will help him enter the palace as concubine, while Lan Zhan treats him as an empress already instead of a concubine.

 

Xiao Zhan was already tired and bored from what’s happening inside of this palace, it’s so chaotic and Wen clan are terrifying, when he was in his world no one could frightened him, but this time, he can feel that those Wen can easily disposed him if they knew that he didn’t know how to use the Stygian Tiger Amulet. He would like to play around but even Xiao Xingchen despises him. Just then, he observed the people around him and asked Wen Ning a few things, he asked him to bring some brush ink and paper and they went to his gazebo to relax.

 

“What will you do with these Your Highness?” Wen Ning asked.

 

“Ah this, you’ll see later!” Xiao Zhan excitedly said. He thought that although the people here are wearing good hanfus, the design is dull for him. So, he made some sketches and as well as some designs for his blankets handkerchief and even some accessories.” Everyone knows that Wei Ying is talented, but they didn’t know that he’s this talented and his design is out of the world. He combines the design from his world and this novel, and the design is very modernized but intricate.

 

After a few days, he asked for the help of the imperial tailor but some of the design needed to be done by hand, so Xiao Zhan sewed and did some needlework on it. He also does some art from yarn and given that the weather is getting cold, he made enough clothes, knitted cardigans, scarves and even embroidery display. He’s a well-known all-around designer besides there’s nothing left to do in the palace, so it only took him few days to finish these.

 

“Wow, Your Highness! This is so beautiful! This is the first time I’ve seen this kind of clothes though, but it’s wonderful!” Wen Ning said as he shows of his modernize hanfu with intricate design, Xiao Zhan made some for him and Wen Qing with a pair design as they as siblings, even Wen Qing was stunned by the beautiful hanfu, he also made some for his brother and sister and asked them to deliver it to Yunmeng.

 

He also gave some decorations and embroidery display to the Wen Clan, since black is suitable for them, he created designs with black and red motif just to get their trust as well and more on like a bribe, since he still needs to go back to his world and don’t want to die here so as possible, he will try to play safe.

 

He also made some accessories for Xingchen as peace offering and hands gloves and modernized changshan for Xue Yang and Lan Xichen, as they were the once who saw his body and basically Wei Ying’s savior.

 

 

 

In fact, he still has one on hand, it has a pattern of clouds with white and blue colored hanfu and changshan, but when he recalls how jerk the emperor is, he stopped working on it, although he only needs to finish some details, but he is so mad at him that he even hides it on his drawer. He doesn’t want to throw it since it is still his work, as a result he decided to hide it instead. He asked Wen Qing to deliver his presents to Xiao Xingchen, while Wen Ning was sent to deliver the gifts to Xue Yang and Lan Xichen.

 

Wen Ning arrived on the official office of the emperor in the library, thankfully the two of them are inside as well, Wen Ning informed them that he has gifts from the Empress, and Lan Xichen permitted him to enter even though they are a bit cautious about the gift, so they asked him to open the gift instead. The two were stunned by the gift and they didn’t expect something like this from the Empress.

 

“This looks expensive! Are you sure that this is for me?” Xue Yang asked Wen Ning.

 

“You are right Xue Yang, where did the Empress get these? I believe we don’t have this kind of style in the empire.” Lan Xichen said, he genuinely complimented the design.

 

“Ah, as per the empress, these are gifts for you since you save his life and he’s the one who made this, from design to the final product, although he asked the imperial tailor for some help but most of this is his work! This is one of his works as well!” Wen Ning enthusiastically said as he shows his modern hanfu.

 

Upon hearing this, Lan Zhan stopped browsing into his book and looked at the people in front of him, they were discussing like he doesn’t t exist and even he was stunned by the handwork of Wei Ying.  But despite admiring his work, he didn’t receive any gifts from Wei Ying even though he is the husband and the emperor. Perhaps, Wei Ying is still mad from what happened last time, and they haven’t talked since then and he just ignored him whenever they see each other in the palace.

 

Being a big brother, Lan Xichen knew every expression of Lan Zhan ever since they were children and he noticed that the emperor was disappointed that that he didn’t receive anything from thee. If someone saw him, they might think that he’s unaffected but deep inside Lan Xichen knows that Lan Zhan is anticipating something as well.

 

 

“But did the Empress made anything for the emperor as he gave you as well?” Xichen curiously questioned Wen Ning.

 

“I’m sorry Your Majesty, but the Empress didn’t give anything only these,” Wen Ning said apologetically to Lan Zhan.

 

 

“Mm,” Lan Zhan said as he tightened his fist and continued reading his book.
