SB-chapter 27

It was clear that Wang Yibo was trying to hint at and Xiao Zhan finally realized what the latter was planning.

He said with a straight face, “I’m not going to live in your house.”

Wang Yibo hooked his arm around Xiao Zhan’s shoulders and said in regret, “Why not? I have a big house and my bed is also big enough for us. There are also quite a few chefs in the house, so you can eat dishes from different countries if you like. We’re just going Saturday afternoon and coming back Sunday night. If you’re afraid, I’ll have my parents tell your parents about it, ok?”

Xiao Zhan said sternly, “I’m not a greedy person.”

With his soft and adorable voice, it was hard to take Xiao Zhan seriously.

Wang Yibo moved closer and Xiao Zhan immediately ducked him, saying, “We’re in school right now. I’m going to get angry.”

“Angry…Well, show me how angry you can get.” Wang Yibo hugged him and said in his ears in a longing tone, “What should I do? I want to hand in my homework. Hand in a lot of homework and make you gasp for air…”

Xiao Zhan suddenly pushed Wang Yibo away. The autumn wind blew against his scarlet face and he thought: Why is Annoying Wang that irritating?

When the afternoon arrived, Xiao Zhan walked out of the school with Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan had a habit of buying milk tea. He even bought one for Xiao Cheng.

While walking, Xiao Zhan suddenly saw a person from afar behind the car looking towards them. He subconsciously looked over to see a plain and simple woman who seemed to be glancing at Wang Yibo.

When the woman met Wang Yibo’s gaze, she seemed to be surprised and quickly moved back.

Xiao Zhan thought that the woman was familiar, but couldn’t remember who she was for the time being. He took a sip of the matcha milk tea and slurped a lot of brown sugar tapiocas right then. It was sweet and soft, making him feel deeply satisfied.

Wang Yibo grabbed a lemon black tea and decided to stay as far as he could from the strong scent of milk.

While lazily standing there, he said to Xiao Zhan, “No wonder I always smell the scent of milk on you. Do you drink milk tea often?”

“Not very often.” Once Xiao Zhan said this, he thought it wasn’t too proper, so he added, “I only drank it twice a week, in the past.”

Xiao Zhan’s parents didn’t allow them to drink certain beverages, but he and Xiao Cheng liked it. Therefore, the parents made a rule that they could only drink twice a week.

But ever since he dated Wang Yibo, it was a frequent thing for Xiao Zhan to drink five times a week.

Xiao Zhan subconsciously touched his face and believed that he shouldn’t allow himself or Xiao Cheng to keep drinking the milk tea anymore.

From afar, Xiao Cheng made his way over on his bicycle, stopping in front of the two. Lately, Wang Yibo had been handing Xiao Zhan over to Xiao Cheng personally and they were all used to this.

Xiao Zhan walked over and sat behind Xiao Cheng while Wang Yibo delivered the milk tea over, saying, “Here. A combination of all the milk teas.”

Xiao Cheng didn’t act modestly either, grabbing it and placing it in the basket in front of the bike. Without even greeting Wang Yibo, he directly pedaled off, making Xiao Zhan hurry to wave goodbye at Wang Yibo.

The latter watched as they left his vision and then his smile faded.

Xiao Cheng, this condescending stupid boy. He bought so much milk tea for him, but he didn’t even call him Brother Wang.

His Huihui was at least better.

When the bike entered the building, Xiao Cheng fixed his messy hair and scrunched his brows, saying, “You have been getting closer and closer to Wang Yibo lately.”

“How can you tell that we’re getting closer and closer?”

“Look at your bright smile whenever he’s around.” Xiao Cheng stared at the elevator button and said, “Has he been stuck to you like glue recently?”

Xiao Zhan’s heart thumped and scolded, “Don’t say random things.”

The elevator opened and Xiao Cheng pushed the bicycle out while Xiao Zhan was considerably nervous.

He said, “Don’t say random things in front of our parents.”

“Say random things like what?” Xiao Cheng said indifferently, “Did you misunderstand something? I meant that you must have something to do with Wang Yibo trying to score 2nd place and working hard with his studies.”

“How do you know this?”

“I’m not a nerd and my world doesn’t revolve around studying either.” Xiao Cheng pushed the bicycle while Xiao Zhan glared.

Xiao Cheng, this boy, knows everything.

They opened the door to their house and Xiao Cheng immediately threw his backpack down, taking out his milk tea and returning to his room, sitting down in front of his video game setup.

Xiao Zhan followed to the door and said, “You’re taking your high school entrance exam next year, so mother and father said you can’t play games anymore.”

“Do you know why you’re stupid?”

Xiao Zhan was confused.

“You’re always studying and you need to take some time off.”

Xiao Zhan felt a ball of anger in his chest and said, “You’re the stupid one!”

“Since you know I’m stupid, why do you bother to fight with me? This makes you more stupid.”

Xiao Zhan froze for 2 seconds before closing the door behind him and then he walked back to his room. But, he returned back and said, “Remember to wash your head! You haven’t washed it in 3 days already! Filthy!”

Xiao Cheng clutched the video game controller and turned around to look at the door, saying, “I know.”

Xiao Zhan angrily returned to his room.

Did Xiao Cheng eat something he shouldn’t have? He dared to say that to his brother. That’s crossing the line.

Xiao Cheng grabbed his headphones, wearing it and staring at the screen for a while before he suddenly thought of something.

Then, he rolled over to grab his iPad, logging into QQ.

Xiao Zhan was unhappy and rolled in bed to vent his anger. He felt that he hadn’t performed to the best of his ability when he was quarreling with Xiao Cheng.

If he was given another chance, he’d make sure Xiao Cheng concedes.

This stupid child.

He knitted his eyebrows and his heart was burning when his phone suddenly dinged.

Xiao Zhan received a message and he thought it was Wang Yibo, but it was actually Xiao Cheng.

Xiao Cheng: The monthly exam grades came down today and I got bumped down 2 ranks.

Xiao Zhan immediately sat up and his anger vanished right away.

He knew it. Xiao Cheng would never speak to him like that. It turns out that he was in a bad mood.

Xiao Zhan: Do you want me to look over your exam?

Cheng: Once I’m done with this round.

Xiao Zhan immediately got ready while Xiao Cheng threw his iPad to the side, focusing on finishing the round of the game. It didn’t even feel like he cared about his grades dropping.

Xiao Zhan didn’t know that Xiao Cheng had made himself seem tragic in order to prevent Xiao Zhan from getting angry at him.

Xiao Zhan grabbed the notes he had from middle school. He wrote a lot of notes every semester and each book was like a treasure.

He carried his notes to Xiao Cheng’s room without complaint while the latter took out his exam, sitting down and acting well-behaved. He supported his chin with his hands, listening to Xiao Zhan explain the questions.

As he explained, Xiao Cheng suddenly said, “Brother.”

“What?”

“Is there anyone pursuing you in school?”

Xiao Zhan was shocked. “Why, why are you asking this?”

“There should be right. Peng Chuyue said…”

“You should call him brother.”

Xiao Cheng accepted the suggestion and continued, “Brother Peng Chuyue said that someone had written you a love letter in the past, but was caught by the principal. Then he made a strict order through the loudspeakers, preventing everyone from getting too close to you, right?”

This had happened in Xiao Zhan’s sophomore year. Back then, he had good grades and was also handsome, his smile like an angel.

Therefore, there were certain high school students who were attracted to him, sending him many love letters.

Xiao Zhan didn’t know what to do, so he collected all of them. After all, it contained people’s thoughts and he felt like he shouldn’t throw it out.

One day, Wang Yibo suddenly begged to be part of the elite class and before that, Xiao Zhan didn’t really have much interaction with Wang Yibo.

In the beginning, he was scared and disliked Wang Yibo entering Class 1 because the first thing he did when he entered was to force him to hand over all the love letters.

Then, Wang Yibo pulled him to the principal, giving the love letters in.

Xiao Zhan felt extremely ashamed, but Wang Yibo even kept his head up and chest high, saying, “I believe that the school is a place for students to learn and not to date. Students should place their focus on studying. Regarding Xiao Zhan privately accepting the love letters, I am asking the principal to express his attitude about this. Otherwise, everyone will learn Xiao Zhan’s ways and the Discipline Department will have to run around all day trying to catch couples.”

The innocent Xiao Zhan teared up in the principal’s office. He was embarrassed and afraid.

The principal was forced by Wang Yibo and ended up sternly reprimanding Xiao Zhan.

Wang Yibo said with a cold face, “I think that you should tell the whole school since you have the intention of helping Xiao Zhan become the top scorer of the college entrance examination. If someone decides to influence Xiao Zhan and cause Chongqing High School to lose the opportunity to show off, I will make sure they pay for it.”

Therefore, the principal angrily grabbed a microphone and announced this with a darkened face, “From now on, whoever dares to be in a romantic relationship or dare to date Xiao Zhan, you guys will be immediately expelled!”

Wang Yibo curled his lips up and glared at Xiao Zhan.

The latter didn’t even know how he offended Wang Yibo, but he kept his head down and tears fell down his face. He clutched his hands, not knowing what to do.

After Wang Yibo left the principal’s office, the principal stood up and walked over, comforting, “That kid has been used to getting his way, but this is also a good thing. From now on, you just need to focus on your studies. Don’t worry. I’m not reprimanding you or anything. I know it’s not your fault.”

“The…”

“I’ll put it in the paper shredder and I won’t look at the letters.” The principal was kind and understanding.

Xiao Zhan left the office after thanking him.

Meanwhile, Wang Yibo was leaning against the wall with his head down, a leg against the wall. Once he saw Xiao Zhan coming up, he looked up. He had thin eyelids and narrow eyes.

When he looked at people from the side, it made Xiao Zhan feel as if he was the target of a poisonous snake. He didn’t dare to take a step forward which made Wang Yibo laugh suddenly.

“Are you unhappy that I got in the way of your possible dating candidates?”

Xiao Zhan remained silent while Wang Yibo shoved his hands in his pocket, standing straight.

He took out an Alpers candy and sucked it, curling his lips. “So, not only are you a ‘true fool,’ but you’re also a coward.”

He walked towards Xiao Zhan and the latter began rigid, staring at Wang Yibo’s muscular arms. He subconsciously took a few steps as Wang Yibo stopped in front of him, tilting his head.

“Do you want to hit me, hm?”

Xiao Zhan lowered his head and hid his hands, indicating that he didn’t want to hit him.

Yet, Wang Yibo didn’t become happy. Instead, he snorted and glared at Xiao Zhan furiously before getting on his skateboard and sliding down the stairs.

Xiao Zhan sighed heavily in relief and his forehead was full of cold sweat.

Up until Wang Yibo lost his memory, Xiao Zhan still didn’t know how he had offended him.

He originally forgot about this but after the reminder, he realized that it wasn’t that easy to forget this.

He looked at Xiao Cheng and said, “That did happen. What’s the matter?”

“I feel like your principal is right.” Xiao Cheng supported his chin and said, “You’re so stupid, so you’re better off not dating.”

Xiao Zhan had been called stupid twice in a day and this made him puff up his cheeks like a dolphin.

He suddenly stood up and smacked Xiao Cheng’s head, saying in disgust, “Your hair is so oily. Disgusting.”

He walked out, leaving Xiao Cheng there. Then, Xiao Zhan used soap to wash his hands.

Xiao Zhan didn’t even explain the questions to Xiao Cheng anymore, walking back to his room and throwing himself on the bed, rolling in happiness.

Xiao Cheng must be angry. Stupid boy.

He rolled over and then suddenly thought of Wang Yibo.

Ever since Wang Yibo lost his memory, his attitude got better and this made Xiao Zhan almost forget about how bad Wang Yibo was before.

Xiao Zhan suddenly grabbed his phone and opened his WeChat to see Annoying Wang’s name. His mind flashed to the memory of the other party glaring at him fiercely.

Then, Xiao Zhan pursed his lips and deleted Annoying Wang from his friends.

After he finished deleting it, it made Xiao Zhan delighted and feel as if he was over the moon, chuckling.

***

When Wang Yibo strolled around in the neighborhood in the evening, he encountered a stray cat that was meowing. He touched the cat and suddenly thought of Xiao Zhan.

Therefore, he took out his phone and snapped a picture of the cat, sending it to Xiao Zhan. “There’s a…”

Before he could finish, he saw a red exclamation mark and the message below.

“Engrossed learner” has activated friend verification. You’re not his/her friend yet, so please request a friend verification. Once they accept it, you can chat with them.

Wang Yibo was confused.

A question mark appeared in his mind.
