Chapter 22

 

Wang Yibo has been assisting Xiao Zhan for almost a week now, from his morning to bedtime routine. He’s grateful that Yibo has been supporting him since he injured his shoulder, but he’s getting concerned as well since the young actor has a busy schedule and he’s always on his unit from early in the morning to late in the evening.

 

“Yibo, are you sure that you’re really going home? Are you staying in a nearby hotel?” Xiao Zhan asked.

 

“Of course, Zhan-ge, I’m going home every day,” Yibo answered without even clarifying that he is talking about his new unit above his floor.

 

“But what about your schedule, you don’t really need to do this, I can really handle myself,” Xiao Zhan said, currently they are having their breakfast that was prepared by the Wang’s chef. They cannot just always eat take out foods and Xiao Zhan is having a hard time using his arms, even though Yibo misses his foods.

 

“No Zhan-ge, I’m just having my vacation,” Yibo said as he eats his food.

 

“But you should be relaxing than traveling from your place to here, besides I can just ask them if I am really having a hard time moving since they are just across the room,” Xiao Zhan said while Yibo just looks at him and stops eating his food.

 

“No,” Yibo simply said, he just cannot let a stranger help him especially when he’s taking a bath, he knows Xiao Zhan can do things, but he is clumsy, and an accident might happen. Besides, he has nine men across this room and who knows what they can do to him, and they just cannot see him bathing.

 

Especially, he knows how tempting Xiao Zhan is when he is shy and embarrassed. Although he is helping him Xiao Zhan still doesn’t want to remove his clothes, so he just helped him during washing his hair. A few days ago, before entering Xiao Zhan’s unit, Yibo saw some Xnine members outside their unit and called them. He told them not to just barge in on their manager’s apartment and give him some privacy.

 

“But Senior Wang, he gave us permission to do so, besides you are doing the same, he’s just your former manager and he is our current manager,” Zhiguang said innocently.

 

“Ah, I forgot, you, don’t do that again, you cannot just barge into someone’s room and hold their hands, got it? Bye,” Yibo said as he walked into Xiao Zhan’s unit, as for him he didn’t need to explain his relationship to Xiao Zhan.

 

Xiao Zhan has been receiving a lot of messages and calls from his friends and even producers of the show; they even gave him some fruits and flowers for his speedy recovery. But, for the past days even though he is grateful to Yibo, he cannot be helped by how conscious he is when they are close to each other, the sudden skin ship, he is sure that he’s already used to it but right now, there is something that he feels that makes him embarrass.

 

Night has come and the two of them are sitting on the couch while watching, suddenly Yibo leans his head to Xiao Zhan’s other shoulder and the sudden closeness made Xiao Zhan flinched. Although Yibo has been enjoying seeing Xiao Zhan flushed and embarrassed by his actions, he is also worried that he’s sometimes avoiding his touch.

 

“Zhan-ge, did I do something wrong,” Yibo asked with a sad tone, while tightly clenching the pillow.

 

“Of course not! You’re always helping me.”

 

“But I noticed that sometimes you are avoiding me.”

 

“That, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to, it’s just, it’s embarrassing sometimes, you know how close we are,” Xiao Zhan explains.

 

“But we are close already or I am the only one who’s thinking that?”

 

“Aiya, I’m sorry, I guess I’m just being conscious,” Xiao Zhan just sighed in resignation he just cannot said that he’s getting shy because of the sudden skin ships.

 

“It’s already late, you should go home and rest,” Xiao Zhan said.

 

“No, can I —”

 

“Nope, you should rest, you already help me, I promised I’ll get back to you once my shoulder healed.”

 

“Okay,” Yibo said as he prepares to go home. He only had his phone and wallet, so nothing much to prepare, he bid his goodbye to Xiao Zhan and left the room. Xiao Zhan noticed that Yibo left his special card access and tried to follow Yibo on the elevator but unfortunately, the door closed already. Strangely, the elevator went up instead of going to the basement so, once the other elevator arrived, he went to the above floor discreetly and saw Yibo enter the only room at the end of the room.

 

“It can’t be,” Xiao Zhan muttered and pushed the doorbell to confirm that that was really Yibo.

 

“Zhan-ge! What are you doing here?” Yibo hurriedly opens the door as he saw him on the intercom.

 

“You’re living here?”

 

“Zhan-ge I can explain.”

“Aiyo, that explains why it is easy for you to visit me,” Xiao Zhan just sighed, this is very Yibo like to do things on his whim. He’s not angry he’s just surprised that he even moves.

 

“I’m sorry Zhan-ge, I didn’t mean to, come here,” Yibo said as he invited Xiao Zhan inside.

 

“Don’t tell me, you move here because of me?”

 

“Of course, not Zhan-ge,” Yibo said, he just cannot tell him and just make an excuse. He told him that Haikuan offers him this unit since the building is newly built and facilities are better compared to the one before and the building was owned by his brother. He also mentioned that Peixin will also his neighbor after shooting the variety show. Thankfully, Xiao Zhan bought his excuses and kind of felt excited that Peixin would be his neighbors.

 

Yibo received a message from Han-geng that the winner for the trial date chose him as his date. He already committed that he would join if incase to he just asked for the schedule. The producers prepared their trial date and even booked  them a room with full course to an exclusive restaurant and installed cameras. He told Xiao Zhan that he cannot visit him today as he has an important matter to attend to.

 

Thankfully, Xuan Lu and Jiang Cheng invited him to go outside to unwind. The three of them booked in an exclusive restaurant since the two are public figures as well. They catch up and from what happened in the last months as they all have busy schedules.

 

Xiao Zhan went to the bathroom before they went home but he saw someone with familiar face. He saw Yibo happily assisting some guy and enter the room. He couldn’t see the other’s guy face but he’s pretty sure the taller man is Wang Yibo.

 

There is a sudden pang on his chest, and he feels like crying, he recalled that Yibo told him that he has important matter to attend to, maybe this is what he’s talking about. He already used to see Yibo with his different partner in a club, but this time it’s different, it’s more like a proper date. He thought that maybe Yibo is getting serious with his current date and already plans to have a long term commitment than one-night stand.

 

“I should be proud of him,” Xiao Zhan grimly mumbles, he wanted to be happy for Yibo if that’s really the case, but he didn’t know why it doesn’t feel right especially how close they are for the past week and how he is worried about him, so why didn’t inform him that he has a date? For some reason, Xiao Zhan felt bitter and just clenched his shirt while looking at the room where Yibo and his date entered.
