Chapter 10

Xiao Zhan woke up with a pain around his neck and called Wen Ning to ask what happened last night.

 

“But, Your Highness, I just uhm cannot, enter the room,” Wen Ning said outside the room.

 

Xiao Zhan was confused by this, but his head was aching and wanted to grab some water, but when he tried to get out of the bed, someone grabbed his arms, and he was pulled back to his bed.

 

“Wei Ying, let’s talk,” Lan Zhan said calmly.

 

“AHHHH!” Xiao Zhan screams on the top of his lungs as he was shocked by the sudden appearance of the emperor on his bed. “What are you doing here!”

 

“We need to talk,” Lan Zhan said as he fixes his clothes. Xiao Zhan mind has been trying to recall what happened last night and check his aching neck.

 

“Don’t tell me something happened to us last night?” Xiao Zhan asked.

 

“Yes, something happened,” Lan Zhan said, but clearly, they are talking about a different thing.

 

“Oh heavens, I slept with my attempted murderer.”

 

“Wei Ying, I’m sorry, I don’t know if you can still remember what I have said yesterday, but I’ll repeat it again, I am sorry, but I had to do that and it was all misunderstanding, I’ll accept your alliance.”

 

“That’s not important you narcissist emperor! Who, uhm, so who’s the top between us? I don’t feel anything behind my back, but I need to make sure!” Xiao Zhan asked while he panicked.

Lan Zhan was confused by his question and still processing what he should answer, but Xiao Zhan looks like he will cry and sitting in front of him eagerly asking for answer, so he says, “I’m on the top.” Clearly, he is referring to the scene before they went to sleep and he’s not lying though.

 

“Oh, my goodness, I did it again, I am bottom?” Xiao Zhan mumbles to himself and fixes his clothes.

 

“What’s wrong about being bottom?” Lan Zhan asked, and Xiao Zhan just glared back at him.

 

“What’s wrong with it?! It’s the worst, I promised not to be once again, oh damn, I should clean myself, obviously you do not have a condom here,” Xiao Zhan hysterically said.

 

“Is it because of Wang Yibo?” Lan Zhan grimly said, he promised himself that he would talk to Wei Ying and decided to discuss this as well. He is now his husband so he should just focus on becoming an empress and he decided to pledge an alliance with him as well, he should know about the people around him.

 

“Ahem why are you interested in him,” Xiao Zhan awkwardly asked.

 

“Like what I’ve mentioned, I am trying to make an alliance and I need to know the person around you as well so I can protect you,” Lan Zhan said.

 

“Protect me? You already tried to kill me though, good thing I have Youwen on my side,” Xiao Zhan sarcastically said.

 

“I know you have the right to be angry, that’s why I am trying to compensate for it, but Youwen is on the Wen side so do not trust him too much,” Lan Zhan said as he still feels guilty about what happened before.

 

“So, let’s discuss who is this Wang Yibo?” Lan Zhan added, Xiao Zhan has been thinking about the alliance and he is the first one to offer them, besides it is safe to this side than the Wen and the emperor owes him something for trying to kill him, well not him but Wei Wuxian.

 

“Alright, I’ll tell you, he is my ex-boyfriend, we used to have this relationship from when we are teenager and yeah, he decided we broke up.”

 

“He decided? When you’re a teenager? Does he work inside the palace?” Lan Zhan was confused by this information since it’s been 10 years since Wei Ying entered the palace to be the empress-in-waiting.

 

Xiao Zhan had a sudden realization when Lan Zhan asked him those questions, he shouldn’t have mentioned someone who does not exist in this world. He is hesitant to say what happened to him and doubts that Lan Zhan will believe that he’s not come from this world either.

 

“Uhm, will you believe me if I say I’m not from this world?”

 

“What do you mean?” Lan Zhan asked.

 

“Well, one day I just woke up and I’m this body, we have the same face and some people around me looks the same as the person in my world, and you, you really look like Wang Yibo. I just woke up and from time to time I’m recalling some memories of Wei Wuxian, what am I saying, of course you wouldn’t believe me. Aiyoo, who am I kidding,” Xiao Zhan said and sighed helplessly. Lan Zhan is still trying to process what he was saying but somehow, he wanted to believe this man.

 

“So, are you saying that we are lovers in other world, you and I are lovers? And how will you get back?” Lan Zhan asked.

 

“Former, okay former, we already moved on, no I mean Yibo and I already moved on with each other, and for your last question, I do not know since I wasn’t able to finish your story,” Xiao Zhan explained everything from what happened in this previous world and even though Lan Zhan was still confused he still decided to believe him for now and get his trust for their alliance.

But inside of him, he is a bit happy that Wang Yibo do not exist in this world, and he looks like him, but he is not him and always reminds himself that the one he loves is Xiao Xingchen. Xiao Zhan also mentioned that maybe he should give them a happy ending and since he loves Xingchen he needs to be married to him and advise Lan Zhan that he will help them to hasten Lan Zhan married to his concubine. Xiao Zhan also forgives Lan Zhan for trying to kill Wei Ying, well it is not his position besides he also saves him from those alphas.

 

“But Lan Zhan, uhm but did really something uhm between us?”

 

“Yes, I’m sorry like what I’ve mentioned I had to do that, you are clearly having a hard time and I thought you will not let me help you, so I just did.”

 

“Aiyo, let this be the last time that we will have sex I don’t want to be a bottom again,” Xiao Zhan said and sighed.

 

“What?” Lan Zhan asked.

 

“Sex, you mentioned that something happened last night and erm that’s sex right and you mentioned that you are on top.”

 

“Mn, I see, we didn’t have sex. “

 

“What?! But you said—” Xiao Zhan screams at him again and getting confused as well.

 

“Yes, something did happen but all I did was to inject pheromones through your neck to relieve your heat,” Lan Zhan explained.

“Aiyoo, that’s what you mean?!” Xiao Zhan said, and Lan Zhan cleared up the misunderstanding and they didn’t consummate their marriage and for some reason he is a bit sad when Wei Ying looks happy and relieved when he knew it.

 

The two of them decided to meet every night to make it look like they had a good relationship and to try to create an heir. They got close as time went by and Lan Zhan has been enjoying the company of each other.

 

“Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan!” Xiao Zhan is trying to get his attention from the pavilion and notices that he is with Xiao XIngchen. But Lan Zhan heard him and walked towards his pavilion.

 

“What are you doing here?” Lan Zhan asked as he removed the leaf on Xiao Zhan’s head.

 

“Oh, thank you, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb your moment with Xingchen, but I just want you to know—” Xiao Zhan happily said to Lan Zhan and the other man just listening to him and smiling to every story he shared.

 

“Xichen-ge, do you see that? The emperor is smiling in front of the empress, do you think that they really have a good relationship?” Xue Yang asked together with Lan Xichen, while Xiao Xingchen who left behind just look the couple who are smiling with each other and feels like he is losing someone who is important to him.

 

“Ah Lan Zhan, uhm are you going out this night?” Xiao Zhan asked.

 

“Yes, why?”

 

“Are you going to the pub? Can I join you?”

“Sure, I’ll get you on your later,” Lan Zhan agrees as this might be the best time to inform Wei Ying as well that he owns that pub and has his special room as well with own comfort room to avoid what happened last time. Xiao Zhan thanks him and excitedly smiles back at Lan Zhan.

 

The whole palace rejoices as they hear the news that the couple will have a date outside the palace and with Lan Zhan’s loyal subject. The news reached the Wen Clan and thought that Wei Ying must have planned this and thought he is really doing a good job on his position, all he needs is to get pregnant and give the emperor an heir so secure more their power.

 

Youwen also insisted on escorting Xiao Zhan as he is still worried by him and even though Lan Zhan told him no, he insisted on talking to Xiao Zhan.

 

“I cannot just leave you with that man, Wei Ying, also I promised that I will protect you especially what happened last time,” Youwen said as he holds Xiao Zhan’s hands.

 

“Minister of War, I think you are crossing your boundaries, you are holding the empress hands and in front of his husband,” Lan Zhan said as he pulled Xiao Zhan’s hands.

 

“I cannot trust you to leave him with you, Your Majesty,” Youwen said sarcastically.

 

“Aiyoo, do not quarrel in front of me, okay? It’s alright Lan Zhan, I told him to be casual with me, besides the more the merrier right! Let’s go!” Xiao Zhan happily said that he’s planning to chug down bottles of Emperor Smile and walk towards his horse and Youwen follows behind him to get his horse as well.

 

“Mn,” Lan Zhan just simply answered and investigated his hands as if he just lost something important. He stares at them and realizes that he is powerless to take care of those important to him. He just clenched his fist and followed the two of them.

 

While in the other world, the body of man named Xiao Zhan has been found on his room unconscious. The news spread like a wildfire as the said man is a famous person, the media has been asking what happened to him and some of them are saying and spreading rumors that it was because he was overdose with drugs.

 

Xiao Zhan Studio has been trying to mitigate these rumors for the sake of their boss as well, but no one knows what really happened to him. The doctors said that maybe it was due to fatigue and his body may have collapsed. Unfortunately, he hasn’t regained consciousness until now.

 

His family is planning to discharge him and transfer him at home instead, since the doctor advised them that there is nothing wrong with his body and he is perfectly fine, he also advised them to secure a healthy and stress-free environment for him for quick recovery.

 

After a hectic schedule one man who finished his work earlier than the scheduled time hurriedly get out of the private plane as soon as it landed and hop on his motorcycle.

 

“What are you doing here?!” Zhoucheng asked.

 

“What happened to him?” The man asked.

 

“We don’t know either, the doctors said all the same, that maybe because of fatigue,” Xuan Lu said.

 

The man just stood in front of the unconscious body of Xiao Zhan and he may look like he is calm, but inside of him, he doesn’t know what to feel. He wanted to hold him, caress him, and hug him, but he didn’t have the right to do that. Xuan Lu decided to give him some private time, so she invited Zhoucheng outside.

 

“We’ll leave him to you first, take you time, Yibo.”
