HIME – Chapter – 21

Yibo : If you fu*k with anyone I will kill them. If you don’t believe me then go and… Try.

At this point of time zhan was flabbergasted by him. He pushed him hard with all the strength he has left in his body. After getting released from his grip, he started breathing heavily while looking at Yibo. His eyes were red and tears were still falling from his eyes when he started speaking.

Zhan : Do you even listening to your self right now?! Who the hell are you to me to stop me from doing anything?  Did you forget what you said to me 2 years ago.? You are the one who played with me and got b-bored. Then why are you here creating this drama and portraying me as a bad guy?? You had ended everything with me and we had nothing to do with each other so mind your own business.

Yibo came back to his sense after listening him and recalled everything he had said to Zhan. Yibo gulped hard to control the urge to tell him everything. He clenched his fist cursed himself for being such a useless person. He can’t even stop him or tell him everything.

Zhan looked at Yibo’s defeated expression and felt someone was scratching his heart. Yibo looked down as he didn’t have anything to say to Zhan anymore.

Without waiting for his reply anymore Zhan went outside the washroom leaving Yibo there all alone.

Next day Zhan decided to meet YangZi in a cafe to tell her everything he has been thinking last night. He couldn’t even sleep because of the things that happened yesterday.

YangZi  : Why do you agree to this marriage when you don’t want to marry me?

She asked after sipping her coffee. Zhan looked at her nervously and sighed in defeat before telling her everything.

Zhan : Yibo was sitting in front of me and …. I don’t know why i did that but i really wanted to see if he really doesn’t care or just pretending. I  always have been thinking that whatever he said to me that day was all lies. But i don’t know why he did that. So i did agree in front of him to see if it affects him or not. And it really worked, he cam–

YangZi : So, you used this marriage to unmask him?

She asked with a slightly hurt expression and Zhan felt weak seeing her like that. 1 year and few months ago, Zhan told her everything that happened between Yibo and Him. He told her everything so she could stop hoping anything from him. She was shocked but still accepted that part of Zhan, she told him she is still ready to accept him if he could give her a chance. She got so obsessed with him that she is almost losing her sense to understand the difference between right and wrong.

Zhan : You know, I wanted to know the truth from so long. I’m sorry YangZi, I never wanted to use you like this and if you have problem I will tell my parents that whatever i said was all  nonsen–

YangZi : Let it be… Leave the things as it is now. Who knows? Maybe he would come back to you and tell you everything.

Zhan frowned a little as he didn’t expect what she said. He thought she would throw tantrums for using her but she got ready so easily.

Zhan : Are you sure? You really don’t have any problem?

YangZi : Yeah, I don’t have any problem but…what if he wouldn’t come back to you?

Zhan knew something must be coming and if he wants her do something for him then he must also have to do something for her. Nothing comes free in this world. But for some reason he was confident enough that Yibo would come back to him after yesterday event. He took deep breath and proposed his offer to her.

Zhan : Then I’ll do whatever you want from me.

YangZi smiled a little and again sipped her coffee.

YangZi : You know what i wanted from you.

Zhan clenched the cup in his hand and gulped hard.

YangZi : If he won’t come then you will have to marry me and forget about everything that happened between you and him. I’m ready to wait for you Zhan and I believe one day you will love me as much as i love you. This is your last chance to chase after him and if he won’t come back to you then you have to accept me.

Zhan went silent for a minute and was staring at his hands. He took deep breath and looked up at her before noding a little.

Zhan : Okay.

Zhan come to his home and found someone standing in front of gate of his house. He frowned in confusion and felt slightly angry recalling everything that he did in the past.

Zhan : What are you doing here ?!

That person smile a little in a apologetic way and took few steps towards him in nervousness.

Yuchen : I want to talk to yo–

Zhan : I don’t want to. Get out of my sight before i call security.

Yuchen felt little nervous and immediately started panicking.

Yuchen : Zhan I’m here to apologise for everything I had done in the past. I know I did horrible things to you but I’m really guilty. I’m really sorry for everything i h–

Zhan : Are you serious? !! You tried to kil– How could you even expect me to forgive you for the things you did to Yibo and me?! If i was late a little bit then– just go away and be thankful that i didn’t call the police.

Yuchen fell on his knees making Zhan shocked in disbelief. Yuchen looked up at him with his teary eyes and said.

Yuchen : I wasn’t planning to kill him. I was there all the time, if you didn’t come on time then i was going to Stop the water flow. I was really stupid back then I got blinded by revenge and did so many wrong things. I also saw you guys kissing there but i never told anything to anyone. Because I know what it felt like to be get apart from your love. I planned to make you feel the same but i couldn’t do it after witnessing your love for him that day.. I really regret everything i had done in the past. Please forgive me.

Zhan was speechless. Even though some part of him still not believing him but it was clear the Yuchen had been there with them to stop any casualty that’s why he knows that they kissed there. But it doesn’t change the fact that he left Yibo in that pool for dying.

Zhan : Even if your intentions wasn’t to kill him but you did something horrible and I can’t bring myself to forgive you.

Yuchen : Zhan please.. I’m really dying. I love Yanli and she loves me too but for you… For you she isn’t accepting me. We both are suffering. You maybe doesn’t know but I love her since childhood. We were classmates till high school and seat mate. I used to be fat guy back then and no one was interested in talking to me.  One day, i got beaten up by few guys and got injured. She came to me and gave me her handkerchief with her smiling face but teary eyes. I liked her from that day but couldn’t tell her that time but one day she transferred to another school for some reason and we lost all contacts. But then i found her in a advertisement. I followed her everywhere to tell her everything. At first she didn’t recognise me because it had been more than ten years.

Yuchen took deep breath before continuing

Yuchen : But when i showed her that handkerchief, she immediately recognised me. She cried seeing that handkerchief which was really unexpected for me too. After that day, I got sure she must also have feelings for me. And just like I expected she accepted that she had feeling for me when we were classmates. She still has feelings for me but she can’t accept me after everything i had done to her brother. She said she won’t accept me until you forgive me. Zhan please, I am really sorry, I’m sorry for everything i had done. I regretted day and night. Please forgive me ..

Zhan was beyond shocked. He never thought that world could be this small. He met his jie’s childhood unrequited love. For some reasons he felt bad for him even though he shouldn’t but h still felt bad because he has been soft hearted person. He looked away and took deep breath

Zhan : You get up first and go back. I will contact you when I’m ready to talk. I need sometime to think. I will talk to my jie and whatever you told me if it’s true then…. I will think about forgiveness.

After entering into the house Zhan immediately called his sister and told her everything that happened few minutes ago. And to his shock everything was true. She accepted everything and told him she also loves him.

Yanli : I’m sorry Zhan.  I didn’t know he would done such type of things. I liked him since childhood and it was just a pity at first but then i started liking him. I never told him because he never showed any interest in me. I gave him handkerchief when he got injured and we got little close after that but mom found out about my secret and transferred me to another school because she was afraid that it would affect my studies. I thought i would never able to meet him again. But when i saw that handkerchief i got really happy…but Zhan i would never accept him knowing you had huge grudge on him because of his deeds.

Zhan never want to come between two lovers and if his forgiveness is coming between the happiness of her sister then he would forgive him with some conditions.

Zhan : Jie, I will forgive him for the first and last time but if he would do anything to you or anyone related to me then ..even if i have to force you but i will never let him come near you.

After that he cut the call and decided to go out to have some fresh air. His mind was in mess after knowing everything but when he got out he found Yuchen was still there and standing infront of the house.

Zhan : Why are you still here?

Zhan thought its useless to ask this question because he is desperate to have his forgiveness.

Zhan : Tsk. .. I’m not anyone to  forgive you. If you are really guilty then go and apologize to Yibo. You can go back, I have talked with my sister and told her that i won’t come between you and her as long as you behave. But Yuchen, if you hurt my sister then i will destroy you complely.

Yuchen widened his eyes and almost got teary eyes being grateful for forgiving him. He grabbed Zhan’s hand and started expressing his gratefulness.

Yuchen : Thank you so much! I will never do anything that would hurt her. I promise. Thanks for giving me a chance.

Zhan pulled his hand from his grip and nodded slightly because there was still some hatred for him in Zhan’s heart. Zhan was about to take steps toward the road when he heard Yuchen.

Yuchen : I think i know why Yibo and You broke up. I don’t know if it’s useful to you or not but that day when you came to save yibo. I saw Yibo’s mom inside the car and looking at you guys.

There was boom inside Zhan’s brain. He stopped in his track and turned around to look at Yuchen.

Yuchen : She saw you guys holding hands maybe got some ideas of your relationship.

Zhan recalled that day Yibo’s mom called Yibo for some urgent matter and after that that day Yibo started avoiding him. And whatever Yuchen told him if its true then maybe Yibo’s mom was the reason of his weird behaviour.

Zhan : Are you sure? Did you really see her ?

Yuchen : I’m damn sure because I did some background check before planning that pool incident. I knew who his mom dad was so i got scared when i saw her thinking you called her and informed her but she never approach you guys and just observed you guys from far way with unsatisfied expression.

Zhan felt his heart started beating loudly thinking whatever Yibo said to him that day might be all lies. Maybe yibo never wanted to end that deal relationship. Maybe Yibo also have feelings for zh– but he wasn’t sure about it.

Zhan : Anyways, thanks for telling me.

Yuchen : If you need my help then tell me I will do anything for you to get back with Yibo. I was also responsible for your breakup.

Zhan : Thanks, I will ask you if i would  need any help.

On the other hand, Yibo come back home all drunk. He hadn’t returned home after knowing that zhan and YangZi engagement got fixed yesterday. Tomorrow he has to see his love exchanging rings with a woman.  His mom was getting worried about him and calling him again and again but he wasn’t picking up.

It was almost midnight when Yibo came back home and his mother saw him. She immediately got up from the dining table and went towards him with her worried face.

Yibo’s mom : Yibo where have you been? Are you drunk!?

Yibo ignored her and started going toward his room with his unsteady steps.

Yibo’s mom : For how long you gonna do this to me!?

Yibo stopped before turning around. His eyes were red and swollen. He felt useless and helpess knowing zhan is marrying someone else but he couldn’t stop him. And all these because of his own mom.

Yibo : Do you even realise what you did to me? Are you happy right now? Are you satisfied with my current self.? Forget it.  I don’t care about you anymore i did whatever you wanted me to do.

After saying that he turned and went inside his room leaving her mom there all alone and heart broken. She felt dizzy and immediately grabbed the chair beside her and sat there while breathing heavily. She never wanted to him to become like this. She ruined him with her own hands. She covered her face with both of her hands and started crying hysterically.

Next morning, Yibo woke up with heavy headache and winced in pain before drinking the water beside him on the night stand. He got up from bed recalling today is Zhan’s engagement ceremony. He went inside the bathroom to do his morning routine with his heavy heart. There was nothing he could do anymore. He ruined things way before he could realise. This is the punishment he is getting from god for breaking Zhan’s heart and destroying his soul.

When he came out of his room to leave the house he found his mom was sitting in a living room like waiting for him to come out. She wasn’t in a good condition and looked like she didn’t sleep all night. Her eyes were red and swollen just like him. He sighed and ignored her and started walking toward the door.

Yibo’s mom : Yibo … Can we talk?

Yibo stopped in his place and for some reason he wanted to listen to her what she wants to talk to him now? Maybe he still has left some hopes in him. He turned around asked with his expressionless face.

Yibo : Talk about what?

Her mom smiled apologetically and got up from her place and stood in front of him before caressing his cheeks lovingly after more than two years. Her eyes started getting blurry because of tears and she spoke in her cracking voice.

Yibo’s mom : Mom was wrong. I’m sorry son. I’m sorry for doing this to you. I thought you guys aren’t serious about each other but I didn’t know my deeds would affect you guys at this extent. Not only you but zhan is also suffering and you both aren’t happy. Then how could i be satisfied seeing you guys like this.

Yibo’s heart beat was crossing all limits and finally he saw some lights in a long dark turnle.

Yibo’s mom : Go and tell Zhan everything. Stop him from marrying her because he isn’t happy with this marriage. I know he is doing this unwilling to hurt you but he is ruining his life too. Go and stop him and tell him you also love him and whatever you said that day was all lies. I forced you to do this. .
