Zhan could have easily rolled with it if he had used their character name instead of Zhan or if there wasn’t such an undeniable sincerity in his tone.

“Haoxuan….I…”

“I was messing with you, don’t give me that face.” Haoxuan said awkwardly with a slight laugh.

“Oh my you scared me, you almost got me Haoxuan.” Zhan chuckled nervously holding his chest.

“But why would you think I was sincere about that?” he inquired in a cover to hide his nervousness.

“I don’t know, maybe because of your facial expression and voice I guess,” Zhan replied.

Just then his phone beeped with notifications.

Zhan jerked up from his seat in a hurry.

“Oh my gosh! He is early, he is texting me already!”

His friend Jiyang came to him.

“Alright calm down, you can do this, and I know he will like you too, there’s absolutely no reason to think otherwise.”

“Our pretend date, hope it helps, you have no need to be nervous.” Haoxuan added.

“This is not the help he needs, you two were behaving like two lunatics in love and now he’s running out of time.” Jiyang snapped annoyingly.

Zhan smiled back and hugged Jiyang.

“Thanks for everything Jiyang.”

He went on and hugged Haoxuan.

“You too Haoxuan, thanks a lot.”

“Hey, what are we friends for?” he whispered back and released him from the embrace.

Zhan picked his bag and hurried towards the door, he stopped before opening the door and turned around to look at his friends again before finally leaving.

“Goodluck” Haoxuan smiled at him.

“My fingers are crossed, you will be just fine” Jiyang contributed then suddenly he had an idea.

“Hey wait up boyfriend, this is one of the days you can’t forget easily let’s take a video.”

“What? Now?” Zhan snapped impatiently.

“It’s a day for beautiful memories for the future, come on, just give me the vibe.”

Zhan smiled shyly, he did a hair flip elegantly and blew a kiss, did a lot of poses like a model and walked majestically towards him.

“That’s it boy, Beauty queen is set to meet his king! Slay! Yasss!”

Zhan cat walked back to his position.

Haoxuan was smiling sheepishly.

“Jiyang I’m running late.” he cried.

“Alright queen, I will send the video to you.”

He smiled softly at them and left the house.

As soon as he was gone, Jiyang walked to the door and slowly opened to make sure he wasn’t coming back, he saw him enter and cab and waved till the cab was out of sight then he returned to Haoxuan, who was helping himself with a strong wine.

“You have the chance to confess your feelings and you blew it, wow!” he snapped and grabbed the wine from him.

“You saw his face when I said those words. I couldn’t face the truth after seeing him like that, he has been a good friend for years, and we both know how happy this Bobo made him, and maybe he doesn’t feel such happiness with me.”

“So are you saying you can’t make him a happy?” Jiyang sneered his hands akimbo.

“That’s not what I am saying.” Haoxuan muttered.

“What if he felt the same way and wanted you to take a step, you were the one that was dumb enough to let him become so eager to date and started online dating, while you were with him secretly in love.”

“Alright, I get it, I messed up and my day is ruined, are you happy now!”

“You have no idea about what my happiness is?” Jiyang replied coldly.

AT THE RESTAURANT

“We are here, your money is 200 bucks” the cabbie informed him.

“Thanks” Zhan replied excitedly and paid the driver.

It was the exact location that Bo gave him, he drew a deep breath before getting down from the car.

He admired the place and guessed Bo must have a classy personality because of his choice.

Out of the world restaurant isn’t a place for an average person, it is only known for celebrities and big shots in town.

He felt his feet cold at the sight of the way the people in the place dressed, he was completely out of their league, they all look very expensive, each of them held by their partner, like beautiful treasures.

He rubbed his shoulder and smiled softly at the thought of his Bo holding the same way, it’s today, must be a dream, he screamed in his overexcited mind.

Yibo was the first to arrive and his predictions was correct, his driver had stopped opposite the Restaurant as he had instructed, he texted Bunny then waited for him to arrive and when Zhan alighted from the car, the boy from his office who hated was actually the boy he had dated online for close to a year.

This boy looked different and more feminine than in the office, he looked like someone who had no intention towards taking care of his appearances or enhancing his beauty in any way.

Suddenly Yibo felt a surge of shiver down his spine, his fist clenched.

“I can do this,” he murmured and took a deep breath.

He walked into the restaurant through the second entrance. He took a regular table and waited for him, his hands sweating nervously, alot running in his mind.

‘He will probably put me in my place and disgrace me, I should put an end to us tonight.

There’s no way he will ever want to be with a man like me, and the same goes for me anyway, this is a mistake, I should have never replied to him back then from the start, What the hell was I thinking, loving someone? I must have been under some spell to have given him too much attention, how did he entrapped me all this time, Yibo thought.

As soon as Zhan entered the restaurant, a waitress approached him with a tag which read

Bunny.

“Mr Bunny?”

Zhan giggled excitedly. “That’s what he calls me,” he teased.

The waitress smiled warmly.

“Please this way.”

She walked him to the VIP table.

“Thanks,” he muttered shyly.

Everyone was looking at him like how did he afford that spot, he noticed their stares and awkwardly brought out his phone to text Bo.

“Hello Bo, I am at the table in front of the performers. The other tables were arranged 12 feets away from this one. It’s like a VIP table. This place, this position, isn’t it expensive Bo?” he texted and waited impatiently.

“The best for you.”

Zhan’s face reddened with shyness.

“Awn, so where are you? I can’t handle any more surprises, I want to see you, can you wave.”

He went offline, that’s unusual to Zhan, he never goes offline anytime they’re chatting not to talk of today of all days. Zhan however didn’t spare him from receiving his endless messages.

He was served the best dishes and also his favorite musician was performing live, it was as if it’s a private live performance made for him only.

He recorded everything and posted on his status, also the video Jiyang sent to him.

His colleagues who viewed his status sent love emojis, some commented on how expensive the date was, he had never received a compliment from anyone at his workplace before.

After replying to their messages,

Excitedly he texted Bo again, this time he was online.

“Bo you got to see this, Ed is performing live in front of me, are you the one behind this, I am so blown away, I really can’t wait…..”

“Listen Bunny.” Bo replied

Zhan paid attention curiously.

“What is Bo?”

He replied worried, his hand visibly shaking.
