CH- chapter 41

Xiao Zhan

Zhan was setting the table with tea, fruits, pastries, chicken cassoulet and Ann favorite coffee cake.

It was the order given by Carmen that everything should be perfect and the whole house should be decorated with balloons and a welcome sign when they brought Ann and her baby girl.

Zhan try hard not to remember his time when he brought Fei for the first time in the house…

When there was no celebration and no one to see his daughter face..

He felt these unwanted tears again and laughed at irony that today also a girl is born but she has been celebrated differently before her birth than his poor Fei who doesn’ even get the chance to be aware of her relatives.

He shakes his head and remembers that Fei is still sitting in her hight roller seat and it’s her evening snack time.

He saw Mrs. Shuli who was walking very steely and she looked tired.

Zhan felt so bad that he can’t help her.

Mrs. Shuli’s bone condition had made her too weak most of the time she was in her room.

Zhan walked toward her and said.

“Mrs. Shuli… if you are not feeling well then you can take a little rest in your room, we have other people working too here.”

Mrs. Shuli shakes her head.

“I’m tired of all these rest and secondly I don’t want to put all the workload on you too.”

Zhan give a thought and then said.

“If you are ok then can you feed Fei (Zhan point his daughter who was babbling) I have to bring Mr Wang down since Mrs Carmen and Ann will be coming in any second.”

Mrs. Shuli happily nodes and Zhan goes to Mr Wang room and brought him downstairs.

Mr Wang looks at the house and said.”i…. it.. its look… looking beautiful!”

Zhan smiles brightly. “I did it all… I hope they are also happy with this all!”

Mr Wang smiles fall and his said with broken words.

“y.. yyyou sho.. shouldnt.. do ttt.. this…. the.. they nn.. e.. neever, dd… did this when F… Fei was born.”

Zhan looks down and smiled.

“It was their decision daddy… but I think I should not bring my resentment for an innocent baby who is just going to come in this mansion any soon…. and she is Fei sister too and your granddaughter… so I’m doing this for you and Fei!”

Mr Wang raised his shaky hand and Zhan hold his hand and he said. “yy… you de, deserve soooo much

Zhan kissed his forehead. “so do you.”

Then they heard loud laughing and happy voices… It Carmen.

“Oh my Ann darling thank you for this beautiful gift. I have told everyone to arrange this whole house in balloons and celebratory items that my little angel can see for the first time.”

Ann and Haikuan looked like proud parents and they smiled and have such love for their small bundle of joy that Ann was holding.

Zhan took Mr Wang wheelchair towards them.

Carmen see his husband and said.

“Yibo dad… look at the gift our beautiful Ann has given us… look how beautiful your granddaughter is… she got Haikuan eyes and Ann hair… but all I see is my Yifei.”

Carmen took hold of the baby and make Mr Wang looked at their granddaughter.

Mr Wang smiled and said. “she is… so beeee… beautiful.”

Zhan also tries to have a look of the baby but Carmen gives him hateful glare and suddenly holds the baby and said.

“You boy, what I have told you it’s done?”

Zhan replied. “Yes Mrs Wang.”

Carmen gives the baby to Haikuan and said.

“Call Yibo… he was on the phone and told him we are in the main dining room.”

In the dining room, Carmen was fussing Ann and her daughter and Yibo just came into the room and saw how Zhan was continuously working and serving food and tea.

Yibo asked his father how he is. Mr Wang just remove his hand and said he is Ok.

Yibo looks down the baby and smiled. “So what we are naming this pretty girl.”

Zhan saw how happy Yibo looks and so lovingly towards his niece: he wished Yibo can have this look for his daughter too.

Carmen proudly said. “I’m naming her after my mother and my daughter Wang Yifei Aimer.”

Yibo and Haikuan gives a sad smile and nodes. “Its a beautiful name mom.

Yibo then sit with new parents and see the decoration and celebration, he felt that it was nothing like when Fei was born at Fei time it looks like everyone was mourning… including him… he shakes his head.

Zhan makes Yibo coffee and gives it to him.

Yibo looked at him and said. “Thank you!”

Zhan shrugs and node.

Mr Wang replied. “I like the name too and it’s su… such a good day. (everyone smiled at him) Today my twe… two granddaughters have born o… on ss… the same dd day.”

Everyone becomes quiet and said nothing.

Carmen said then. “But today is my Aimer day and she will bring all the happiness for the house.”

Carmen passed a hateful glare on Zhan but Zhan shakes his head in helpless.

Zhan thought he should congratulate Haikuan and Ann too, even they never said to him anything when Fei was born but it will be the wrong for him to feel jealous and resentment on their new baby girl…

Zhan walks towards them and said. “Congratulations to both of you… I wish all the happiness and blessing for this little baby girl of yours!”

Ann smiled reservedly and Haikuan who look super irritated and awkward and said “Your welcome”

Zhan can see the baby pink face and she was looking so cute.

Zhan raised his hand to caress her cheek when Carmen roughly picked his hand and Haikuan also took her daughter From Ann and held her protectively.

Carmen put pressure on his hand so bad that Zhan winced.

“How fucking dare you to put your filthy hand on my granddaughter… dont dare to come closer or even looked at her.”

Yibo stands in said in anger. “Mom leave his hand right now… he did nothing wrong.”

Yibo removes his mom’s hand.

And Zhan tears were falling… and Mr Wang replied in broken words ‘L.. leeave.. him… Carmen stop it..”

Carmen looks super angry she looked at Haikuan and Ann. “Let your daughter stay away from him… I’m telling you he is a bad omen for my family.”

Zhan looks down and cried, how humiliating it was, then he saw Fei was crawling and was babbling. “Mama dolly…mama dolly…”

Carmen sighs. “great now this spoiled brat is here too.”

Zhan gives his mother in law a hateful glare and walked towards his daughter but Fei was crawling very fast and she reached Yibo leg and hold him and tug his pant. “Dada….. dada… dada… dolly.”

Yibo looks down at his daughter with so many emotions and he wanted to pick her but he can’t… he looked how Fei was looking at him with so trust and smiled at him.

Zhan automatically picked his daughter and said. “Come on Fei.. your dolly is in the room, let’s go!”

Mr Wang also said “ta.. take me too”

Carmen yelled. “but Yibo dad…”

Mr Wang raised his good hand. “Stop it…Carr.. Carmen.”

Wang Yibo

Yibo looks at his brother and said. “You look very happy today… surely you are a father now but it’s something else that makes me believe me for your happiness.”

Haikuan looks at his brother in such happiness.

“You are right mom was right my daughter is really a good luck for this family… you won’t believe what news I have we were waiting for this news like years ago.”

Yibo drop his cigarette and looked at Haikuan with curiosity and caution too. “Whats the news.”

Haikuan smiled. “We get what we want… Zanjin has found the evidence that will put Zhan in the jail.”

Yibo felt someone has put bullets in his heart… he reacted in shocked “WHAT?”

Haikuan laughed. “Yes brother.. it’s true.. he is coming today to our office to show us the evidence… oh my god I still can’t believe it we did it… Yibo.”

But Yibo was not happy although he wants to but he can’t. Will Zhan be gone from his life? what about Fei.

Yibo replied “What if the evidence is not right.”

Haikuan looks intently at his brother.

“Well he was quite sure what he sees and when he will show us the proof it will be good enough for us to decide… but you don’t look happy with the news.”

How the fuck he can be happy when his wife will be gone from his life for good.

Yibo put the cigarette in his mouth and said. “You do know my life is changing, so for a moment I’m freaking out.”

Haikuan raised an eyebrow. “You have been little protective about him nowadays and a day ago you shouted at mom to leave Zhan hand brother I told you to be nice with him not to fall for him.”

Yibo said in a control but intermediating voice. “Fuck you guys are making me insane… you know better Zhan was not hurting your daughter and mom did wrong… and at that moment I felt to support him.”

Haikuan replied in anger. “Well I’m protective of my daughter unlike you is not my fault and secondly I will not back out on this.. listen to me carefully I will put that man behind that bar as soon as I see that evidence, and secondly it will be good for you because when he is out your mind will be out of this mess and you can live your life you want.”

Yibo drag his hand on his hair in frustration. “When that Zanjin guy will come.”

“He is on his way so we should also get going.” Haikuan replied.
