“Father, no Prime Minister I am here,” Wen Chao said as he visited his father.

“Wen Chao, what are you planning to do now?” the prime minister said as he sips on his tea.

“We are continuing on experimenting for Yin Iron, however no use until now, but we buried them again to Dafan mountain so they can be used as a soldier to our experimental site.”

“That’s not what I am asking.”

“Wh-what?” Wen Chao asked, even though the prime minister is his father he is still scared at him.

“I received some reports that the emperor and empress are getting close to each other, I understand if Wei Wuxian is playing with the emperor with the palm of his hands, but that’s not seems to be the case. I told you to keep an eye on them, but you just keep on messing around!”

“T-that, I am sorry father.”

“I also received a report that some of those alpha nobles were killed before in a certain pub was because they messed with the emperor and he saved the empress from those noble friends of yours, how did that happen?! You always report to me that the emperor cannot even fight and already has a lower cultivation base than before because of the incident in the cave. I also received a report that he deliberately punished the soldiers last day because of the empress!”

“I’m sorry father, I will double our spy and keep an eye on them, I can assure you that the emperor has no power to deny you,” Wen Chao nervously said.

“You are really useless! Youwen is more capable than you!”

Wen Chao just clenched his fist; he hated the emperor, but he even hated Youwen. He wanted to get hold of Wei Wuxian to punish them both, even though Youwen is part of their alliance, his father is always comparing them. He’s worried that he might give Youwen a powerful position as well if they fully control the throne and use the Yin Iron.

That’s why he needs to come up with his own plan to get the position of the emperor and throw away Youwen. He’s not satisfied with his lowly born omegas and while on it he decided to get the most beautiful omega in the empire as well which is the current empress. He’s not in love with her, but the greediness of the Wen Clan runs through his blood as well. He needs to make sure that he has the most beautiful omega as an empress when the time comes.

After meeting with his father, Wen Chao went back to his office and angrily threw his things. He decided to call one of his guards, Wen Zhuliu, who has the power to destroy one’s golden core and Wen Chao’s trusted bodyguard. He asked him to follow Wei Wuxian’s closest attendant and friend, Wen Ning.

“But he is part of the Wen clan as well,” Wen Zhuliu said.

“So? He’s useless anyway, they are from minor family and only his sister is useful, torture him and extract important information about the empress and emperor but do not kill him yet, we can still use him against the empress hahahaha,” Wen Chao coldheartedly said, and Wen Zhuliu just proceed on his assignment.

“Wen Qing, you look so worried, why is that?” Xiao Zhan asked his attendant.

“Wen Ning is late Your Highness.”

“I thought you asked him for some errands?”

“I did but, it’s already late, he’s never been this late before.”

“Maybe just went to shopping while he’s in the market.”

“I hope so,” Wen Qing said.

“Let’s go, let’s ask Youwen to help us look for Wen Ning,” Xiao Zhan said as he stood up, but before they leave the room the doors open and there’s Wen Ning with his haggard appearance.

“Wen Ning!”

“Ah, Your Highness, where are you going?” Wen Ning innocently said.

“Ah, we will look for you since it’s late already, and where did you come from!” Wen Qing said angrily.

“Ah sorry shijie, I just saw something along the way, so I bought some.”

“What is it?” Xiao Zhan asked.

“Ah, here, Your Highness, in exchange of the gift that you gave to us, this is a lucky charm, the seller said that it came from another country, so I bought these for you and shijie,” Wen Ning said shyly.

“Aw, you are so sweet Wen Ning!” Xiao Zhan said as he hugs Wen Ning, no doubt that he’s like his friend Yubin in the real world as well that might be the reason why he’s comfortable with him.

“Next time please do not do this, we are so worried,” Wen Qing said as she sighed.

“I’m sorry shijie this won’t happen again.” Wen Ning said as he lowers his head.

“Aiya Wen Qing, please forgive him he bought us some souvenirs.” Xiao Zhan said as he defended Wen Ning.

“Please do not spoil him like that,” Wen Qing just sighed in resignation, she’s just worried originally his brother is a low-end cultivator, besides he’s the only direct family that she has, although she has the minor clan and they are also part of the Wen Clan, they are still the follower of the empress and promised that they will dutifully assist him. Thankfully Wei Wuxian went back to his former jolly self.

In the other world, Yibo stares at the sleeping man on their bed, this is the house that they bought when they are still in a relationship but due to his selfish decision they broke up. He explained everything to Wei Ying because he deserves to know everything that happened to their first past life.

After a while the doorbell rang, and he looked at the intercom to check the visitors. It was Xuan Lu and Zoucheng together with someone in a suit and could not recognize who it was but was a familiar figure. He opens the door as he confirms who are the visitor.

“Good evening,” Yibo politely greets the brother and sister.

“Hi Yibo, how’s Zhanzhan? Still the same?” Xuan Lu asked.

“Mn,” Yibo simply answered, he cannot just inform them that Xiao Zhan woke up but with the different soul.

“I still don’t understand why you would let that guy take care of Xiao Zhan,” Zhoucheng said, he’s still angry with Yibo by the sudden breaking up with Xiao Zhan and leaving him alone.

“Enough A-cheng, by the way Yibo, we have a doctor here, he saw the news on what happened to Zhanzhan don’t worry we already confirmed his identity and that he’s a legitimate doctor and one of the best. But now he’s working in the military as a military doctor at the same time,” Xuan Lu explained.

“Doctor please come in,” A-cheng said.

The doctor walked inside the house and Yibo just glared at the familiar face and figure. But he realized that there’s no way that he’s here, he made sure that they will never encounter each other especially Xiao Zhan, but why did he approach Xiao Zhan’s family in the first place. However, even though he gave the doctor a cold stare, the military doctor just greeted him politely.

“Hi, I am Dr. Wang, Wang Talu.”

The doctor has the same face as the Minister of War, if he comes here with the intention of getting close to Xiao Zhan, he won’t let that happen, one life is enough to get close to Xiao Zhan or Wei YIng and it was their first life, he’s not trying to be possessive but he can’t help it, the minister of war was in love with his empress, , Yibo thought, but he didn’t notice that the doctor has someone with him as well.

“And this is my assistant, Nurse Song Ji Yang.”

Ever since Xiao Zhan played Wei Wuxian’s or his Chenqing, some of Wei Wuxian’s memories floods through his mind like it was his own memories. He recalled when they were younger, and the first time when Yunmeng Jiang clan went to Gusu to study more about cultivation.

Lan Zhan was blindfolded, and some black clothes people are torturing him, obviously Lan Zhan is no longer moving, he might already lose consciousness or the worst part, he’s dead already. While Wei Wuxian follows them and sees them, shocked by the scene, he runs in front of Lan Zhan and receives a painful mark on his chest.

Despite screaming loudly, Lan Zhan is still not moving, and that made Wei Wuxian panic. He wanted to check up on Lan Zhan, but a familiar face appeared and looked down on both while he was hugging Lan Zhan’s body tightly.

“Oho, what’s the Yunmeng Jiang kid doing here?” Wen Rouhan said.

“Prime minister! Why are you doing this to the prince!” Wei Wuxian said.

“I am just giving him a lesson, but I think he’s already useless,” Wen Rouhan said.

“Wh-what do you mean?” Wei Wuxian nervously asked and hurriedly checked Lan Zhan’s body. His blind fold has blood stains as well and his body is tattered, he tried to check his pulse, but a sudden realization struck him and mumbles, “hi-his, golden core, it’s gone.”

Xiao Zhan woke up after the long dream, he didn’t move, he just opened his eyes, and the tears fell as he silently cried throughout the night.
