HIME – Chapter – 20

Zhan : I never — I never thought you could be this disgusting.

 

Yibo was shocked, petrified, devastated seeing Zhan like that. It wasn’t slap that was bothering him but Zhan’s hurtful expression. He realised he had really broken him today. There will be no future of them. Yibo wanted Zhan to beat him as much as he wants to vent his anger. He wished, Zhan would slap him 10 times to calm himself down. There was no going back so he continued with his drama. He smirked while rubbing his face.

 

Yibo : If you feel disgusting why are you still here and begging me to accept your feelings?

 

Zhan’s lips were quivering. He was having hard time controlling his tears in front of Yibo. He wanted to squat down on bawl his eyes out to see if Yibo really doesn’t care about him? But he also thinks its pointless.

 

Zhan : I don’t–k- know why are y-you doing this. Bu-But there is still some pa-part of me not believing yo-you. Today, I-I really lost.. I don’t kn-know what to say..

 

He wiped his tears and sniffed to stop himself from crying.

 

Zhan : If you really wanted to just -just hurt me and play with my feelings and emotions then…. Congratulations, you have literally broken me by your game. It was my fault for believing you.

 

Zhan took one step back and smiled at him as best as possible for the last time making Yibo’s heart clenched in pain.

 

Zhan : But….. I won’t do this in future.  Yibo….Yo- You have really l-lost your best friend and enemy today. From now onwards, you are no-nothing to me. Take care…

 

After saying that he turned around and left for his home leaving Yibo there all alone and motionless. When he saw Zhan left his garden. He closed his eyes and tears started rolling down on his cheeks. He was hurt by hurting Zhan’s feelings. Thinking about Zhan’s face he broke down into tears.  He started crying hysterically while taking deep breath. He felt suffocated and breathless thinking everything he said to Zhan.

 

He grabbed the tree near him and started kicking it with all his strength while crying before falling on his knees. At this moment, he felt useless and helpless.

 

Yibo : I’m sorry.. I’m sorry… I’m sorry…    I’m really an a&&Hole bastard. I’m sorry…

 

Yibo’s mom was hiding behind the wall and listening them with her teary eyes. She felt so bad for hurting two souls. She clenched her jaw and cried there without making noise while watching her son in such hurtful conditions. But still she tried to tell herself that ‘its for their own good’.

On the other hand, Zhan locked his room and slid down against the door before crying hysterically. He wanted to scream and destroy everything that is near him. He felt disgusted and disappointed with himself that he actually trusted him and told him his feelings. Suddenly he started laughing on himself while crying.

 

Every hurtful words of Yibo was echoing in his ears again and again. He covered his ears while breathing heavily.  He really liked Yibo and he felt pathetic and stupid for it. He wiped his tear and said to himself.

 

Zhan : This is the last time you are crying for him Zhan.

2 years later

 

After that day, Yibo changed his dorm and shifted with Haoxuan and Jiyang. While Zhan, literally ignored and avoided Yibo in every way possible. He also stopped hanging out with friends because Yibo was there. When Yibo realised it, he stopped eating and hanging out with Yubin, Ziyi, Cheng and  YangZi.

 

After that day, they didn’t utter a single word to each other. Everyone was still shocked to see them like this because they used to biker alot but now they just behave like totally strangers. They understood something happened between them. Zhan changed a little after day. He stopped joking around with everyone.

 

Before the last semesters exam they all went to spend Chinese new year to their home. Zhan went to supermarkets to buy beer for himself.  When he was coming back to home he found Yibo was walking toward him in the same street. They both made eye contact and Zhan immediately looked away. He continued to walk but tripped and fell on his knees dropping all 20 cans of beer.

 

Zhan didn’t expected Yibo would run to him and squat down for him with his worried face. Zhan was shocked seeing his behaviour

 

Yibo  : Are you okay!?!

 

Zhan didn’t replied him while collecting all beer cans and tried to get up but ended up falling and hissing in pain again making Yibo reach out his hand to help Zhan.

 

Yibo  : Let me hel–

 

Zhan : Don’t touch me!..

 

He slapped Yibo’s hand away and get up on his feet with a little difficulty.  He started walking again and left Yibo there all alone with tears in his eyes. Yibo clenched his fist and smiled mockingly on himself. His smile was uglier than crying.

 

Yibo : That’s what you deserves.

 

After reaching home Yibo ate with his mom dad but he didn’t replied to his mom’s new years wish and ignored her as always. His mom was beyond hurt because of his behaviour. He stopped talking or listening to her. He ride bikes almost all time and she also heard that he started racing with dangerous people.  She tried to talk to him but he acted like he doesn’t care about her now.

On the other hand, Zhan smiled happily while wishing his mom dad and ate with them. After closing his room door, he took out beer cans and started drinking it one by one. After leaving Yibo, he realised how much he loved him all those time. He didn’t realised Yibo was an important part of his life even when they were enemy. He missed him every day. They used to biker, fight or argue almost everyday for 24 years but now its been two years that they didn’t even called their names.

 

His tears fell from his eyes and he immediately wiped it. Zhan felt stuck, he can neither likes girls nor other boys. His heart only respond to Yibo. But he regretted telling him his feelings to Yibo. If he wouldn’t have told him then maybe they would be still fighting over something.

After the last exam, Zhan’s mom dad arranged a grand ceremony for their 30th Marriage anniversary. Zhan knew Yibo would come too so he prepared himself way before it. But seeing him there, he felt he can’t control his heart. He tried to ignore him by pretending he was having fun with YangZi and Yanli.

 

Yibo  :  Congratulations Aunty And Uncle!

 

He gave flowers to them and they took it so happily from him.

 

Zhan’s Mom : Yibo, you finally came! Don’t leave soon. We will eat dinner together after guest will leave.

 

Yibo looked at Zhan who was busy in chatting with Yanli and YangZi. He clenched his fist and nodded indifferently.

 

After everyone left, Yibo, family and Zhan’s family sat together on a huge dinning table to eat. Zhan didn’t expected he would stay but he had no choice but to sit in front to him as he was in front of his parents.

 

Zhan’s Mom : I wanted YangZi to stay with us for family dinner but her family had to leave for something. I really like her family and that girl.

 

Yibo looked at Zhan and saw Zhan didn’t reacted on this. He sighed in relief and started eating with his heavy heart.

 

Zhan’s Dad : ZhanZhan, you said you would think about it  and reply to us soon.. Its been two years, you are 26 years old this year. Yibo too, you both need to find partner. You guys aren’t getting younger. You will be start working in few days. For how long you going stay single.  ?

 

Yibo’s Dad nodded in agreement and Yibo smiled slightly before replying.

 

Yibo : Its okay Uncle, I’m not planning to get married anytime soon.

 

Their parents sighed thinking Zhan would reply the same but …

 

Zhan  : I also think she is a nice girl. I’m okay with this marriage.  If you really want me to get married to her then….I’m ready.

 

Yibo dropped his spoon in surprised. He looked up and found Zhan was looking at him and with a slight smirk but slowly moved his eyes toward his dad. Yibo’s mom was shocked too. Except Yibo and his mom, everyone was happy with Zhan’s decision.

 

Zhan’s Dad : Good son.. I’ll talk to them tomorrow.

 

Zhan’s Mom : What a good day. Let’s toast everyone. !!!

After having dinning, Zhan left the table to use washroom. He was standing in front of the mirror and looking at himself in a daze. He sighed and turned off the faucet before leaving. But before he could take another step towards the exit, someone came and pinned him against the wall.

 

Zhan : What the he–

 

Zhan got startled by sudden force but immediately frowned seeing Yibo there. Yibo was looking beyond furious. He was breathing heavily to calm himself down but nothing was working.

 

Yibo : Why did you agree with them?

 

Zhan gritted his teeth and tried to push him away but Yibo’s strength was no joke. He felt like his throat was getting heavy with his sore nose seeing Yibo there.

 

Zhan : L-Leave me right now..

 

Yibo : Tell me… Why did you agree with this marriage?

 

Zhan scoffed in disbelief. His eyes started burning as he was feeling immense pain inside his heart. This person who used him and played with his feelings is now standing so close so Zhan should hate it but he couldn’t even hate him properly.

 

Zhan :  I said FU*KING LEAVE ME!!

 

Yibo gritted his teeth in anger placed both of his hands on top of Zhan’s head and came so near toward his lips.

 

 

Yibo : I wont…until you tell me truth. Is it because of me? I was there so you said that to make me jealous?

 

 

Zhan smirked

 

Zhan : Who do you think you are to me? I said that because I want to marry her.

 

Yibo tighten his grip listening this and scoffed in disbelief.

 

Yibo : Want to marry her? You don’t even like her. I know it more than anyone.

 

 

Zhan felt like he got stabbed on his heart again.

 

Zhan : She likes me and ready to accept me even after knowing my secret..

 

 

 

Yibo : Are you insane? You aren’t only going to your life but hers too. Don’t you think its unfair to her?

 

 

Zhan : She knows I don’t have feelings for her but she is ready to wait for me. Even though I don’t have feelings for her right now but i won’t ill treat her after marriage. I will try to make her happy as much as i could. I will give her everything that she will demands from me. Its the least i could do to respect her for loving and accepting me. And who knows, maybe i would fall in love with her after marriage.

 

Saying all this in front of Yibo his tears started swelling in his eyes but he still tried to smile as much as possible. He gulped hard and said in his cold voice.

 

 

Zhan : Are you satisfied? Leave me now.

 

He tried to pull his hands but Yibo again tighten his grip. Yibo’s eyes were burning and tears started swelling in his eyes listening he would love her. Yibo thought he is just trying to make him jealous but seeing he is really serious about this marriage, he almost lost every ounce of control.

 

Yibo : Is your love that cheap? You can fall for anyone? Didn’t you said you like me?

 

 

Zhan’s tears fell down listening this and he gritted his teeth to control himself from screaming on him.

 

Zhan : Yes, I can fall for anyone. Happy? If i fall for you then i can fall for anyone. And moreover, what marriage require the most? Trust, loyalty and s*x . We trust each other and won’t betray in future. And about s*x…. Its not like i can’t have S*x with anyone without loving them. I did that before with you, right?

 

Yibo scoffed clenched his trembling jaw. His tears fell down on his shoes when he came near Zhan’s right ear.

 

Yibo  : Did you forget what i said before?

 

Yibo smirked and whispered into his ears.

 

Yibo : If you fu*k with anyone I will kill them.
