OHTL:- Chapter 13

After dismissing the assembly, Wangji went straight to Qingyang’s room. and had lunch with Qingyang.

Ever since Wangji came, he was completely silent. He didn’t talk to Qingyang, nor did he tell him about today’s meeting.

“Qingyang felt bad that maybe she maybe overreacted too much in the morning. She could not understand that why, she has started getting so annoyed with Wuxian, Wuxian is just a new toy of Wangji and nothing else. She had been explaining herself since morning by saying something similar”.

“Wangji how was your day”? Qingyang asked .

“It’s good” Wangji said plainly.

“Wangji I have told Yao that you will be spending the night with him” Qingyang said

“Mn“ wangji hummed

“Wangji have you found your Mate”? Qingyang asked then wangji frowned.

Qingyang knows that Wangji never wanted to talk about this topic . Yet it is important for her to know about Wangji’s mate.

“Why did you go to the Wuxian’s room in the morning”? Wangji change the topic and asked her straightforwardly

That… I told you that I heard Wuxian fainted and you took him to your room so I just concern about him. Qingyang replied.

“Do you know why WuXian fainted”? Wangji asked suspensely.

Yes! Because he sat on his knees for 8 hours and he didn’t eat or drink anything for Eight hours. “You are the one who punished him, then why are you asking me all this”? Qingyang state irritatly . She just wants to know about Wangji’s mate But wangji was asking him about Wuxian.

“Qingyang, do you know why I keep you closer than my other Consorts And why have I given you the charge of the harem” Wangji asked .

“Yes, because I am your Childhood friend and your first wife, more then that I’m intelligent, and beautiful too, and no one else can handle this responsibility better than me”.

“Then how did you not know that Wuxian had not eaten anything for the last two days. Or you had forbidden his maids to give him food”. Wangji asked looking straight into her eyes.

Wh….. What … What do you mean? Why I’m forbidden him from eating food. Qingyang stuttered

“This morning Wuxian’s maids told me that ever since he came, he is not eating food properly because he is not given food. What is the reason for this”? He asked

“He was throwing tantrums while eating food he just want to eat spicy food and Want to drink Wine”.

“All this is against the rules of the Lan clan, and because the responsibility of the harem is on me, I did not want to break any rules. till date this has never happened in the harem”.

“So I asked them to stop giving him food. I thought that if he does not eat for some time, then he himself will eat the simple food of the Lan clan. But I didn’t know he was so stubborn, I just wanted to teach him a lesson but I didn’t know that he would never ask for food, he didn’t even ask for a meal even for once”.

“Then why didn’t you tell me about it” Wangji asked furiously.

“It wasn’t that big a deal. You are also married to him because you wanted to teach him a lesson, wanted to break his pride, but what I see is completely different. WUXIAN did not eat food for 2 days, you started questioning me about my responsibility”. Qingyang asked while raising his voice little bit.

“For the past few days, I have been noticing a change in your eyes for him. And this change is not little bit but noticeble.

“I saw the hatred in your eyes for those ministers when they raised questions about his upbringing in the assembly, questioned his manners and questioned his parents”.

and felt like you would kill them.

“Hatred for Consort Wei in your words but not in your eyes. You don’t touch anyone without their consent but he is refused you brutally again and again but still you go to him…….. why”? Qingyang can’t suppressed his anger longer .

“Stop right there Qingyang”! Don’t you dare to say anything anymore. Wangji stopped her immediately.

“You really know i don’t like easy person . I want him to wrapped around my finger .

I want him to bend over on my foot . He is the major challenge i have ever faced . I want to crushed his self respect and dignity .But that doesn’t mean I let him starve. he’s still my noble consort do you think it was right”.

“And about the assembly, I think your eyes are deceiving you. i never showed any concern about him , then why are you being so much jealous of him”.

“Next time before doing anything ask me once” Wangji warned her  “And don’t forget that he is not a mere concubine he is my main wife just like you. Don’t let your jealousy overtake your status”.He state while grabbing Qingyang both arms harshly.

“Then promise me if you will love someone, that someone is only me. You will never give my place to anyone and after today you will never fulfilling Wuxian’s any insistence”.

“And  after meeting your mate, even after having your heirs, I will remain your most beloved wife”. “Promise me” . Qingyang asked with teary eyes.

“I promise that as long as you are loyal to me, you will be my dear wife and no one will ever take your place”. Wangji state sincerely.

Wangji wiped Qingyang tears and she hugged Wangji tight and stayed like this little and a little smrik is clearly mention in her lips .

Wangji stayed with her little more then leave her chamber and went back to his own chamber.

After 3 Days

“It was early in the morning and Wuxian had just woken up.Wuxian was now completely recovered, the brusis on his knee were also healed. he opened the window for fresh air After some time he got up and got ready for the breakfast”.

As usually He had breakfast with Nie Huaisang and then went out with him for a walk in garden. Huaisang became his bestfriend now because he is the one who he can talk openly.

Wuxian spent most of his time with Nie Huaisang and Lixin because he did not like stay in the harem all the time. And for the last three days he hasn’t even seen Wangji and he feels relief about it.

When he was walking towards the garden he saw xichen and Wangji sitting there.

Xichen was sitting on a stone table with a book in his hand and Lixin was also playing near him.

To be honest, in the whole Lan family, there is only one LAN XICHEN who is kind and gentle. Whenever we meet he has a smile on his lips and he is very polite too. He also follows all the rules made by Lan’s.

They walk toward him and greet him .

”Greetings Zewu Jun” Wuxian greeted respectfully.

“Greetings Consort Wei” Xichen greeted back politely while keep the book on table.

“How are you now Consort Wei”? Xichen asked genuinely.

“I’m good” he said then his eyes fell on the book on the table. Wuxian asked to xichen “Which book is this Zewu jun”?

Ohh…. this book …….Recently this book has started selling in the surrounding areas of Lanling and Gusu. this book is about immortals and their powers. Xichen said plainly.

In this meantime Wangji also came and xichen asked him to join them. As Wangji sat there, WUXIAN stood up from there and about to leave . Xichen knew that the relationship between them was not very good But even before WuXian left, he stopped him.

Then he asked wuxian:“what are you asking about this Book Consort Wei” This topic drew Wangji’s attention to Wuxian.

“I was asking what is this book about and what is written in it?” Wuxian asked sitting down again.

“This book describes the world of immortality and its powers atop the Celestial Mountain. And it has been told that if those powers are achieved by Cultivators then they can rule over the world by becoming powerful and immortal”. Xichen described him.

“Celestial mountain and immortality !… Is not the Celestial mountain a secluded place away from the mortal world. Then why do people want to know about it now, that too all of a sudden.isn’t that weird ”? Wuxian asked quizzically.

“And more importantly Is it not necessary to became immortal to rule over the world. Then why Cultivators want to achived mortality”. “That’s totally nonsense”. Wuxian said without thinking too much.

“I was also thinking the same so does it mean that whoever wrote this book wants to turmoils in the mortal world”. Xichen state conclusionly

”Or the one who write this book really wants to find about immortal world or there is something that we are missing” ; “We will have to seriously investigate this matter as well.Many people have lost their lives due to this rumor”. Wangji said while Xichen nodded his head.

“Wangji, where has the investigation of Dafan mountain accidents reached? Do you think Wen’s has a hand in this?” Xichen asked.

“Dafan mountain…… What has happened in there”? Wuxian asked worriedly

“You don’t need to know about this”.Wangji state clearly.

“I didn’t ask you about it, I asked zewu jun, there is no need for you to interrupt”. Wuxian said irritatly then asked Xicen “You tell me Zewu jun what happened in Dafan mountain?”He asked softly to Xichen.

Wangji surprised seeing his duality . He is so rude with Wangji but with xichen he is so soft.

“How dare you to talk to me like this, Do you wish to die”? Wangji Whisper yelled.

Wuxian rolled his eyes and Xichen chuckled a little bit while Huaisang fanning himself in tension . He did not want to fight them right now.

“Wangji let me tell Consort Wei….. anyway some Wen’s of Dafan mountain lives in Jiang clan. i think Consort Wei must know about them” xichen kept his point and Wangji understood it.

“Consort Wei Some powerful forceses were felt in the dense forest near Dafan mountain.And some people think that Wen’s are doing some witchcraft there ?” Xichen said seriously.

Wuxian did not reply anything so Xichen countinued; ”In the last three months, such agitation has increased a lot. There are also 5 commoners killed and some of our soldiers too”. XICHEN told him everything in detail and asked “What is your opinion about this consort wei?”.

THREE MONTHS AGO………. Hearing this, Wu Xian started thinking and said after a while, I think you should investigate this matter seriously.

He stood up to leave, but after thinking for a while said to Wangji “You should investigate each case with impartiality. Wen’s lives on Dafan mountain, it does not mean that every time you misjudge them”, “MANY TIMES THINGS ARE BIGGER THAN , YOU THINK”.After saying this, WuXian left.
