She looked at the white walls of the prison…
She was nervous that she will be caught but she also knows this is the save place to do what she wants…
She was waiting in the personal office of the jailer and look at the time since holding a Wang name no one ever raises a finger on her.
She has to be back at home in half an hour… everyone will be awake for breakfast and start looking for her.
The jailer came with a cunning smile and literally bow her.
Carmen roll her eyes. “I’m in hurry… here’s the packet.”
She put down the brown packet and stand, the jailor’s eyes spark with greed and she opens the packet and smiles.
“Mrs Wang, your kind gesture always makes me happy… thank you so much…”
Carmen arrogantly said. “You know why you get this money do what I want and don’t tell anyone that I came here.”
Jailer nodes quickly. “of course Mrs Wang. I will make sure to torture that little mouse more, but you do know I can also do something else… you just give me a signal.”
Carmen knows what he is indicating, and she shivers with the thought…
Surely, she wants Zhan to live a miserable life but killing him is enough? She was nervous what to say on this….6 years are more but not enough for what Zhan did with her daughter, she all see red when she thought about that.
Carmen wear her sunglasses. “I want you to mentally torture him maybe he kills himself.”
He gives her a knowing smile..

Yibo
He wakes again the way he is waking up with that dream… he shakes his head and get ready for office…
He was going down for breakfast but stop to check Fei room, it was across this office. He was hesitant in the start to shift her in different room but his mom was determined that its time for him to move on.
He opens the door and saw the small and tiny figure of Fei playing with a broken doll which appearance looks like it was well used.
He winced when he realized it’s the same doll that Zhan has get for Fei when they were in Miami after that Fei never get toys he looked at the almost empty room of Fei…
Where a small bed was placed with a small draw and few toys that were well used and were not for playing age of two years old..
He feels guilty that he makes million monthly and here his daughter doesn’t have any toys and not any sizable clothes… it was a gut-wrenching moment that Aimer had all the facility and luxury a child can want and here his daughter doesn’t have a good dress to wear.
Yibo had a thought… he thinks today was Fei birthday too so he can at least buy her some new clothes and toys too… yes he can do that… it just clothes nothing more..
Fei might have seen him she turn and look him with her big eyes. “good morning daddy.”
Yibo look away why she affect him so much when she said him daddy, he nodes.. “morning Fei.”
Fei remove her curly hair from her face and stare at him… he feels uncomfortable…
“Where’s your nanny.” he said in a composed tone.
Fei pout and said cutely. “don’t knew… she go… me waiting for food.” she rubs her tummy.
Yibo raised his eyebrows. “You are hungry?”
She nodes and again removes her hair from her face.
Yibo then softly said “it’s almost 8:50 you should have eaten yet.”
Fei replied innocently. “but I get food after dadda, grandma, aunt Liss uncle Haikuan and daddy had eaten then.”
Yibo suspiciously looks to her and see the innocence in her eyes… realize she was saying the truth… he feels that pain he never want to pain… it was just like before when Zhan was ordered to eat when everyone has eaten… he felt an intense anger..
He tightly said. “Come, Fei, we are going down.”
Fei look scared but she nodes, she walks with her small legs and starts walking with Yibo.
Yibo tries to control his anger and enter the dining hall.
It was empty he shakes his head… Yibo called Xueli.
Xueli run and said “yes sir.”
“Where the hell are everyone and why the breakfast it not in the table?” Yibo literally shout.
Xueli looks down. “Sir I don’t know and you know since Mrs Shuli has resigned something is manageable. I will get your breakfast.”
Yibo shakes his head and tries to control his anger. “Bring fast and also bring Fei breakfast here… and where is her nanny… when you find her tell her I’m calling her.”
Xueli nodes and run to the kitchen.
Yibo sighs and sit down and start pouring coffee.
He then saw a small figure standing right beside his chair and looking at the fruit placed on the table, he looked at her and then told her. “Come here.”
She slowly took a step and Yibo took a banana and peel it off and give it to her… she took it from his hand and give him a cute smile that made his heart melt…
She start eating quickly it made him recall those days when he kept Zhan hungry for days and like Fei when Zhan got the food he start eating fast… Yibo can’t breathe, it’s too much
Yibo took a sip of his coffee and looked at her with a different eye… he never wanted her and he always treated her very badly and strangely but today when she smiles at him it made him feel more guilty and sad.
When breakfast was brought Yibo put some eggs on Fei plate and hold her to make her sit on the chair… but when he hold her he realized she was too light he frowns, is she is not getting the food well?
When they were eating he saw Fei nanny talking on the phone but she put down when she saw Yibo.
“Where were you.” Yibo said in anger.
She hesitates. “Ahhh sir i actually it was my father… he lives out of the country, do you need something.”
Yibo put down his cutlery. “When she woke?”
She replied slowly. “around 6 or 7am.”
Yibo intermediate node “and what time is it now.”
She trembles “hmmm 8:45”
Yibo glared at her. “So it’s alright for a child to be hungry for fu.. (he looks at Fei) 3 hours straight.. why didn’t you get her breakfast first.”
She get scared. “Actually sir. Fei had her milk first then her breakfast. I asked her if she wanted to have breakfast now but she said she was not hungry.”
Yibo replied. “Do you think a child knows better about herself more or an adult?”
“Whats happening here.” Carmen came with some shopping bag.
Yibo raised an eyebrow. “Mom.. you were out?”
Carmen said. “Yes I had to because of today’s party… but what’s happening here?”
Yibo glared at the nanny. “She left Fei alone and had not give her breakfast on time.”
Carmen shook her head. “Yibo it’s not her fault this girl has a tantrum of an old lady… she always had her breakfast when she wants… you go now (she look at the nanny) and also take her (she pointed at Fei).”
But Yibo stops her. “No she is eating now… no need to disturb her… you can go.”
He said to the nanny who looked pissed she pass a look to Fei and was gone.
Carmen also sit down and glare at Fei. “So today what this girl is doing on the table.”
Fei looks down and hides her face.
Yibo sighs. “Mom will you let her eat and secondly since you are here I want to talk to you.”
Carmen picks the coffee jug and nodes…
Yibo said. “Mom I got the phone from central jail and it was Zhan, he was saying he still hasn’t seen Fei like for a year and today he wanted to see her as it’s her birthday today.”
But Carmen did not let Yibo complete his sentence “he is fucking lying.”
Yibo looked at Fei who stopped eating and looked scared.
Yibo replied. “Mom please control yourself..”
But Carmen was furious. “How should I… every month your daughter meet that man… If you don’t believe me then call the central jail, or anyone… you have given me a responsibility I would never betray you.”
Yibo was now confused… then why Zhan said so… he looked at his mother eyes and feel ashamed to doubt her… he still can’t believe himself that for a moment he pity that man who killed his sister.
Yibo hold his mother hands. “Mom I won’t check anyone because I trust you?”
Fei then tuck Yibo sleeves and said “me done!”
Carmen scrawled on her and yelled. “hey leave his sleeves your hands are dirty.”
She automatically leaves and makes a crying face “sooorry.”
Yibo soften his expression. “its ok Fei… now go to Xueli and wash your hand.”
She nodes and run away.
Carmen was still pissed. “I don’t want her in today’s Aimer’s party!”
This makes Yibo tick. “Why mom because I think a 2-year-old can’t do much to ruin this special party of yours!”
Carmen glared at him. “You have no idea whose blood is running inside her… she will be just like her mother. I want her to stay away from my Aimer…”
Yibo signs. “Sometimes mom I think you forget she is just a child… a child of your child.” Yibo finally said it with unease.
Carmen sarcastically laughed “oh so this girl has finally won your heart, nice.”
Yibo shakes his head and stand.
“Mom it’s late for office and please send Fei today to meet Zhan… this way she will also stay away from your party and I will try to attend the party latter.”
Carmen was quite but Yibo did not move until he hears from her.
She huff “ok ok I know you think I’m a heartless person but ok I will send her to meet her mother like I always do.”
Yibo replied calmly “thank you mom.”

Zhan
He was impatiently looking at the officer’s cabin that anyone will come and let him inform his daughter is here to meet him.
He was keep on looking at the door and cleaning the gym area… he saw some of the inmates working out and some were chatting.
He was lost in his thoughts that he saw a bulky man deliberately came and pushed Zhan..
Zhan who was so lightweight suddenly lost his balance and falls down on his knee and he yelped in pain…
He stands and saw that bulky man were laughing at him. “yo boy you were on my fucking way.”
Zhan got irritated and turns away and start working somewhere else but again he saw that bulky man pushed him by hand.
“Hi skinny boy, get away from my side!”
Zhan who was on his nerve for days and he lost it “what’s your problem I’m doing my work here.. you are coming on my way.”
The bulky man yelled at him. “how fucking dare you.”
Zhan moves back and he felt someone was on his back… he saw it was Boashan.
Boashan pushed aside Zhan and stand in front of him. “yup Hanli any problem.”
Zhan saw that Hanli man eyes were now a little scared. “No, this new boy was messing with me.”
Boashan replied ‘we all saw who was messing with who… go somewhere else I will talk to you later… and don’t ever touch him.”
The bulky man nodes automatically and run.
Boashan turns to Zhan. “Boy I told you to get smart and strong not fool..”
Zhan blushed and open his mouth to say something.
Boashan raises his hand. “Save it… but since you are in the gym, come I will tell you some self-defense tricks.”
Zhan looks doubtful. “I’m not sure and secondly, today my daughter will come so I’m waiting.”
Boashan gives him a bored look. “your call but if your daughter came surely you will be informed but if you want to survive here then follow me.”
Boashan walks away and Zhan looks unsure what to do.
Boashan was right, if Fei came they will tell him… and secondly, he can learn something too.
He walks towards Boashan and said “i’m ready please teach.”
Boashan who was wearing boxing gloves looked at Zhan and turn to other inmates….
He passed one to Zhan and said “let play” he smiled.
Zhan looks at the gloves and said “I never…
Boashan didn’t let him complete “I know but you will from now on.”

Zhan was breathing loudly, his bones aching… his whole body was covered in sweats and he was feeling so hot and sweaty.
Boashan, who look unaffected by all this, gives Zhan a hand. “We will do this again… tomorrow with some other trick.”
Zhan gives him a horrified look that Boashan ignore… the bell ring indicating gym time is over…
Zhan go to the washroom to take a quick shower and went to the jailer to ask about his daughter.
Jailer gives him an evil look “little mice no visitor for you… so go… and one more thing clean those bloody washroom again…” he sneered.
Zhan’s eyes start getting watery… no visitor… no visitor… Yibo lied to me… he fucking lied to me…
Zhan cleans the washroom and he was crying heavily… when he entered his room he saw Boashan was reading something.
He asked “what’s wrong.. why are you crying.”
Zhan quietly sit down. “she didn’t come.”
Boashan did not say anything.
“Then don’t hop for next time… because it will hurt more… by the way that Henli man who were giving you trouble told me that it was the jailer bitch who told him to mess with you..!”
Zhan shrugs. “I don’t know why everyone hates me so much. I mean they don’t even know me but still hurt me.” he wasn’t sure whom he was pointing out.
Boashan closes the book. “This is a cruel world we are living in… it makes us weak and terrible but it’s up to you how you Fight with it.”
With that, he closes his eyes and Zhan didn’t sleep for the whole night and keep on thinking what his Fei might be doing on her birthday.

Fei
She hold her broken doll and was looking outside the window where she saw beautiful balloons and pink ribbons and tables and cake….
She saw everyone was laughing and was kissing Aimer and saying happy birthday to her…
She wanted to go out to… but grandma told her not to come out otherwise she will hit her and Fei don’t want to get hit…. so she is looking out the window…
She saw every one of her age was running and playing… she can also do that may be grandma won’t see her…
She then saw everyone was giving big gifts to Aimer and Uncle Haikuan gives her a big Dora doll…..
She looked at her own doll which was really dirty but she held her close to her heart …she then saw her dada… who was also smiling…. Fei like her dad.. he loves her… maybe he will give a birthday party just like this…..
She saw uncle Haikuan and aunty Ann come inside….
“Haikuan can you took these out.”
Haikuan kissed her “of course baby.”
Fei giggle… she never saw her daddy and mama doing… but she also doesn’t have a mama… maybe that’s why…
Haikuan and Ann turn when they heard the giggling.
Haikuan said Fei. “What are you doing here…. you don’t want to go out.”
Fei innocently replied “grandma say me no go to the party.”
Haikuan and Ann passed a disturb and hurting look.
Haikuan said. “But you can come because I’m saying this to you.. Come on.”
Fei holds her uncle’s hand but Ann stop them.
“Haikuan please don’t! there are like hundreds of guest and you know mom how she reacts nowadays when she sees her… we have no idea how she will react.”
Haikuan shakes his head “but Ann.”
Ann said softly “Haikuan plz understand look today our daughter turns one… let mom and us enjoy this and Fei.. I will save the biggest chocolate cake piece for you so please stay here like grandma said ok.”
Fei sadly nodes… she wanted to go but Aunty Ann said she stay here.
Haikuan feel bad but he walks away with Ann.
Fei tears were falling down and she feels so alone she wanted to play and go out.. she wanted to touch these balloons… she also wanted to wear the pink frock like Aimer.
She will go to his dada… she will hide and then no one will see her.
She runs outside and saw grandma was talking to someone and she was holding Aimer… yuppie… now I can go…
She run to her dada.. who was sitting in his wheelchair and looking so sad.
Fei put her small hand on dada face “dada… why sad.”
Mr Wang smiled “My, my Fei”
Fei put finger on her lips “sshh.. don’t say loud grandma send me in the house.”
Mr Wang looked confused but then he realized what she meant… he gives her sad smile and said “can… yo.. you puu.. put your h.. ahh… haaa.. hand in my… poc… pocket.”
Fei nodes and put her hand on his pocket and took out a small box wrap in pink ribbon.
Fei smiled “mine?”
Mr Wang node “yooo… yup yours… it’s music box… my… my Yifei.. your your aunty used to have this.”
Fei doesn’t understand what he said but she was excited to see this.
Mr Wang kissed her cheeks “happy happy birthday Fei.”
Fei looks up and still looked confused… birthday?
Mr Wang nurse came and told him it’s his medicine and rest time… she took him and Fei try to open her box when she opened it she saw a tiny fairy doll coming up and there was a soft music.
Fei close it automatically then she opens it… she giggled its best gift.
But she saw her grandma standing and crawling on her. “you… how you touch this, this is my Yifei.”
She snatched it from Fei and roughly grabbed her arm and take her inside the house and slapped her.
Fei falls down and she has a split on her lip and she hurt so bad that she saw red coming from her mouth… she starts crying in pain…”dada, dada”
“Shut up you bitch… where is your fucking nanny!”
Fei nanny start running and said. “Yes Mrs Wang.”
Carmen said “take this bitch inside her room and locked her… don’t take her out until I want.”
Nanny also roughly grab her arm and put her inside the room.
“You stupid stupid girl, how dare you… you want me out of this job and I will lock you for days then you will even misbehave… you piece of shit.”
Fei was crying loudly. “plz plz leave me… sorry soory… sooory dada dada.”
The nanny was getting more pissed and she throws the small body of Fei roughly on the bed… Fei try to protect herself but the wall hit her bad… she was crying very loudly…
Then the room door open with a big slammed.
It was Fei daddy…
Fei start crying “Daddy save me.”
“Hey, did you miss me…😄 The worst day of my life is when I feel like I’m tired.”😴
